Hi,
Just thought I'd ask, would anyone be able to create a manchester metrolink installer that includes the extra sounds please? This is because I cannot figure out how to set up the platforms etc.

Sorry, but what 'extra sounds' do you refer to?
The CD contains everything needed to run the route, including the station stop announcements.

Sorry, I was thinking about setting up sound at the time of writing the post. What is should of said was the additional platforms that need to be downloaded, sorry for the confusion. Also, do the manchester trams included on the disk have swaping cabs, if not, is it possible to upgrade them to have that feature? Does the Crich Tramway included on the disk include all the files needed and the trams, and do they have two cabs?

Are you talking about the CD version of the route or the downloadable version ? The CD contains absolutely everything you need to run the route right out of the box. No additional downloads are needed.
The download version does require additional downloads such as the magnetic platform kits if you don't have them downloaded already. As far I recall the platform kits need to be installed to each route they are used on and there are comprehensive instructions with them.

The trams for Metrolink were designed for use WITHOUT the BIN patch.
However, I
think
that some work-arounds involving modified .eng files were discussed on the forums that allowed for dual cab working.

And the same goes for the trams included with Crich....ie they are not MSTSBin compatible, and don't have two cabs.

Could you not stop to read the replies you have already had ?
There is a 1 stop installer on the CD version of the route. There is a manual installation process that allows you to download the bits and piece from the library if you do not want to get the CD version. Those are the 2 options for installation.
Nobody is going to volunteer to repeat the process of gaining permissions to have a downloadable installer since that is duplicated effort that has already been expended on the CD production.

Hi Brick,
A single unit tram car can have a rear cab made with this.
 | | | Rear Cab File Generator for MSTSbin 1.6 [36555 bytes] - rv_cvf_maker_1_3.zip File ID: 15358 Date: 23 Oct 2006 - 2291 Downloads |
|
I am sure this has been posted for you before.
Good luck
Doug

Hi Brick,
This has also been answered. The vehicle has to be set up in the .eng file for lighting. If it has not got rear lights then swapping the cab will not give you them.

At £4.50 (before the VAT went back to 17.5%) I do not think they are overley expensive and you get 1 Months Premium Membership as well.
No brainer as they say.
Good luck
Doug

Slightly OT - is any work being done on the Phase 3A extensions to this route...
Also there's a couple of threads over on skyscraper city tracking the construction of 3A for real plus 3B stuff...
3A

3B

mods could move this into the Real Railways section I suppose

There would be, Steve, if I wasn't otherwise engaged ......
(I even modelled the undercroft with a removable back wall for the eventuality!)

Hi,
As you seem pretty keen for the new manchester metro stuff, I thought i'd post my question on here to. Is anyone thinking of making the new trams?
