Re: Bristol to Birmingham-New Route Help
1. If using Vista check "permissions"!
If permissions are OK, then
2. Re download MSTS Bin from the MSTSBin site, and then try again.
After that not sure what the third choice would be!

Perhaps if you give us a clue to the 'fail' messages you are receiving we may be able to help you get MSBin installed.slp619420 wrote:I tried installing MSTSBin onto my Laptop but fails during installing

Re: Bristol to Birmingham-New Route Help
Probably the MSTS update from Microsoft, as without that being installed, MSTSBin will not install,slp619420 wrote:i needed to downloaded something before i could download the bin patch

Re: Bristol to Birmingham-New Route Help
Hi Rick and Jon, glad its working. iT'S been a nervous wait even though i 've been testing the route for the past month and have deleted /re-installed from the back up and the zip 3 or 4 times.
The track textures are the basic UKFS textures i think. My graphics card is playing up so when i tried to change the textures i couldn't be sure what it actually looked like
The same with the buildings but i guessed if they looked alright in shape viewer, they'd be alright in the route.
The BIN question is a matter of choice. Old route building forums used to say something like a max of 800 objects/tile. MSTS BIn is meant(i think) to increase that limit. The Gloucester tile has 1600+ objects and the Bristol area is 1300+ for 4 or 5 tiles.
When testing, with BIN the route works. Without BIN i dont know but possibly MSTS might not keep up with the shape loading.
As i'm a XP dinasour, Vista problems (i'm pleased to say) are not mine
Cheers

Re: Bristol to Birmingham-New Route Help
Hi Clive,
Many thanks for makeing this fantastic route some realy good and realistic signals, just ran from Bristol right through to Birmingham New Street,It's nice to see some realy good stations and built up areas around Birmingham and Glouscester.
I managed 29mph at the top of Licky Incline,as I had a signal check at the bottom of the bank,I arrived Birmingham 3 mins late due to another signal just before the station.
I had no problems loading the route, and I'm useing a laptop running Vista Home Premium,I had one problem with the Bath activity and that was getting a spad at the 1st signal, although it was showing off as soon as I got level with it the arm dropped and then got the signal passed message.I changed the Tsection dat to 41 and now it works ok.
This route shows there is definatly life in MSTS.
Michael

Re: Bristol to Birmingham-New Route Help
Has anyone managed to run the route through Route Riter? In the Read Me's the author says that RR does not like his route, and I am puzzled by this.
I find thatv RR starts all right but seems to take an age procesing World files before stalling whilst processing w-005135+014966-w It does not seem to be able to get past this point, although CPU uasge remains at a relatively high level.

Hi David,
Open up the BTB route information folder every thing you need is there in the created activities folder, except the trainset,it tells you to use the BC1(Black Country 1)Trainset folder that has all the stock in to run the route.
