Pro Train 1 & 3

Post by XPTE »

Happened to see the English language version of Pro Train 2 in my local GAME shop last weekend. Of course, I couldn't resist it and instantly purchased it. Very impressed with it, has a good selection of new trains, a very good route with good scope for activity creators, and 30 included activities. Great!

Two questions I need to know the answer to:

1) Has an English version of Pro Train 1 been released? If not, when is it set for release?

2) Any estimation when the English version of Pro Train 3 will be released here in the UK?

Cheers

Pro Train 1 has been released in an English Version called 'Rhine Valley'. I will be updating the review soon.

Hello Bob. I would confirm that protrain 1 version English has been out for a while now and very good indeed very good graphics etc You can do a 450 miles round trip from Franfurt back to Frankfurt non stop using the ICE train. I enjoyed the whole game. There web site is http://www.deutsche-strecken.de/ and Protrain 3 english version should be out in march next year.
As regards version 2 one activity I would recommend is NERVES. try it and see how you get on. awaiting version 3 with antisipation.
Regards.

I saw Protrains 2 in Game and couldn't resist it either. Have you tried the Introductory Train Ride? Two stops out of Leipzig it crashed!

Not MSTS for a change, but one of the BR143 units drove into the side of 'my' train and derailed it! A case of AU - Artificial Unintelligent trains!

It only did it the once, normally the train gets released first and 'ours' follows it, but on that occasion ours moved first, stalled over the points, and the passing train couldn't be bothered to wait any longer! If you try it, it's the slow train you pass between the first stop and the second. I suppose it had a grudge about being overtaken.

So much for safety on German trains!

A good add on, and I agree with Matt's 99% (or maybe 98% as some of our freeware routes are equally good, if not better).

I bought PT1 direct from Germany and then downloaded their English patch from their web-site. The only difference is in the default installation path and the activity wording. The patch puts up English translations of all the text in game.

And still well worth it even if I couldn't understand what was being said to me. ;)

Protrains 2 - Issues

Post by mhunte »

I too purchased Protrain 2 for MSTS and I find the activites are good, the sound and cab details are far better than standard Train Sim. However there appears to be some serious terrain issues such as cars driving accross missing bridges and driving the train into the station on the grass as the track has gone missing. Has anyone else had these issues? Are there any patches available for Protrain 2?

I think there is a patch for PT2 - navigate your way around http://www.bluesky-interactive.com (hint - find the english link first! :) )

...

hmmm - there seems to be a fourth protrain in production..
Productinformation about ProTrain Cultural Heritage Semmering Railroad.

This add-on for the Microsoft Train Simulator includes the route from Wiener Neustadt to Murzzuschlag in Austria. The realistic design of the landscape, including the conversion of several viaducts and other elaborate buildings, is the most impressive feature of this 80 km railroad route with all relevant trains and wagons of the OBB. You can expect interesting activities including forward-biasing engines and multiple traction, both of which is also used on the Semmering in reality.

This is being made by someone else, but under the ProTrain name. You can download the original, freeware version from http://www.msts.nl
