just a few questions

Post by jdjonny »

I wonder if anyone can help me with three questions that have been bugging me...

1) Why was the whole cornish line closed on sunday?

2) Does anyone know when a railtour nexts comes down to cornwall?

3) What is the deal with 47306, "The Sapper" I have seen it twice on preserved lines and once in st.blazey yard with 47791. It is in RFD livery and has buffed up red buffer beams. It is always spotlessly clean too. What is it- like a show loco or something?

If anyone can answer any of these I'd be sssssooooooo grateful!

thanks everyone

The entire EWS fleet of Class 47/3 locomotives are in store, but Freightliner still has four examples in traffic being 47303/309/358 and 47370 - in the general intermodal pool. Just one 47/3, 47306, has joined the ranks of the WMOC 'heritage fleet'. The Sapper starred in the Old Oak Common open day, and from then on it has visited many preserved railways and open days.

    Ho, Ho, Ho (Etc)
