Msts Start Video

Post by buyme »

Hi Everyone

Does that Video on start bug you??? Well today I was looking threw trainsim and fort I hate that its noise and has nothing to it really so I am going to tell you how to get rid of it.

Step 1 Locate your train simulator directory some times it is in C\Program files\Microsoft Games\Train simulator.

In my case it would be D\Games\Train simulator.

Now go in to the main train simulator directory then locate the GLOBAL file go inside of this file and scroll down You will now see a video file called startup all you do now is just simply Delete it.

Now start Trainsim and you will see the results.

Enjoy
My regards

When I did it (?2002) I wasn't extreme enough to delete it, but renamed it with an x so I could always ressurect it.

I was really irritated by that video and the need to keep the CD in the drive!

My subsequent web searching for a solution led me to UKTRAINSIM and I haven't looked back since.

I always get an unpleasant surprise when I reinstall MSTS .... the music and "Americanised" movie are just too much for me

If I was a project manager at Kuju, circa 2000, I would have told my team the following:

1) Spend less time on the poncy intro video
2) Spend more time on the non-existent front coupler :x

To be fair, when MSTS was first released, they probably didn't realise that the front coupler would ever need to be used. Things have come a very long way since then.

Hi

Its no different to the development of any sim by Kuju.... they run out of time and thereby money.
What has been done, up to a certain date gets released.
The difference with MSTS is a whole world of dedicated fans have spent 7 years polishing it... which must add up to millions, if not billions of development hours.
No other sim is ever going to be able to compete with that development.

Cheers
