Post by mickrik »

Hi There,

I am having a problem when checking a route with the wonderful Route-Riter. I have the same error even when checking default Settle-Carlisle

I have the same error every time the program starts to read the tiles. I have re-installed the program but still I have the same problem.

Hi Mick.
Have you tried running the 'make read/write' button before checking. Had a similar problem where route riter just froze when checking the tiles on my route. Clicking the read/write solved the problem even though i'd not knowingly done anything to the files.

Hi Gents

Thank you for the quick replies.

I have plenty of HD space and the read/write key made no difference

Hi Mick,

RR uses the TsUtils code to open the .t files in the tiles, if TsUtils does not work, then you would get the error shown.

Is TsUtils correctly installed? You can check this by going to the TsUtils tab and clicking the 'Show TsUtil Version' button. This should produce a report, if not then TsUtil is not working correctly. I assume you have Java installed on your PC?

If you can not resolve this, please send me the file Route_Riter\Reports\Startup.log as an attachment on an email to virtualtrains at optusnet dot com dot au

I will then see if I can work out why this is happening.

Hi MIke

Thanks for the reply,

Selecting TsTools and checking the version gave 67 registration lines so I assume it is working.

So..............

Rather than try to fix an old version I have downloaded and installed version 7.5.39

and it worked first time.

So may I wish you a Happy New year and thank you for the valuable work you have contributed to us.

I am embarrased to say I have used route riter for many years, and as not as yet crossed your palm with silver

This has now been corrected

I am pleased that you got it working OK and thanks for the beer money.

I would suggest users now update to v7.5.45 on my site as it has some more improvements.
