Anyone for the whole set of Class 50s

Post by Hymek »

I am prepared over the holidays to produce All the Class 50s in most of there differant forms (apart from the ones already done)

So that would mean for example 50 001 Dreadnought would be released in
D401 BR Corporate Livery
50 001 BR Corporate Livery
50 001 BR Large Logo Livery
50 001 NSE Revised loco livery

I WILL ONLY DO THIS IF I GET AN OVERWHELMING YES ON THE POLL
and it will start after i have finished the 20 and the 47 featured on the screenshots KLW post

I would love to see all the Hoovers. For me 50008 Thunderer and 50040 Leviathan would top the list.

Oh , I seem to be in a minority. Heres my reasoning.

Why do reskins when there are so many other locos/coaches/wagons to do. And as for 200 class 50's (50 x 4 liveries) even the most diehard Hoover fan would find the amount of work a chore and when it stops being fun.................

Gavin.. you got TSM? GMAX? 3DCanvas? or other? if so start doing locos (like my class 58) and see how much demand there is for more than one. would you get doncaster loco works building one real 58 then saying.. 'no better relese a new loco' Repaints are quicker than modeling so i am all for more numbers.. plus that way you can run 'realistic' double headers.. tell me a time when you saw 2 trains at the very same time with the very same number in real life.. It makes me think that if my 58 is only going to have 1 sceem/number i should not relese it.

It would be interesting to have for example a class 50 (D437) as original e.g. No head light, no jumper cables on the ends. Then wer could use them on the LMR and they are a significant change. When built only D400 and 401 had the jumpers fitted (orange square type) the rest had the system but not the jumpers. And obviously, before refurb at Doncaster and transfer to the WR they had no headlights.

some of them even after referb at doncaster came back without headlights as doncaster ran out (50003 was one) they were fitted at old oak or laira.

Go for it, or at least do those that have not been done once so we can have all 50 (well 51 if you count DP2). Just if you do all 50's in all lvieries make sure you give them different names so they won't clash in MSTS, like D401, 50001, 50001LL and 50001NSE otherwise if you try to use more them 1 of the same model in MSTS they will end up with the same textures (I know because I did it with leader )
