Unusual RigidBody Errors

Post by dforrest »

Recently I am getting RigidBody errors on several routes in several activities. Mostly these stop the activity being able to start and sometimes are later in the activity. In all cases the number given begins with 200 which is never a number which can be found in the activity .act file or any other activity file. In all cases the error persists even if I remove all services and static consists from the activity. In all cases that player consist using the path of the activity, starts in Explore mode with no error.

Also, turning sound and graphics settings to the very lowest does not solve the problem.

Can anyone offer any suggestions please.

HI David,

This is probably a stab in the dark, have you tried an alternative "soundcfg" file.

Thank you Mick. Tried it but the problem remains.

I have also checked for uncompressed .s files. Found one in the player consist, corrected it, but the problem remained.

Hi there,

The other time something like it occured was when I had managed to drop the wagon sounds from UKTS_3290_UKST_pt3_v1-0 but this showed sms faults as well.

Hi David,

In the past, RigidBody errors were often caused by consists being placed either over points or over the buffers.

Agreed Mike, but in this case it remains in several activities on different routes even when I have removed all services and static consists from the activities and I have no problem running the same consists on the same paths in Explore mode.

Not all routes I run and not on all activities in any route, but it has happened on BC1, NWC, BrisCard and Watersnake.

Hi David

This could be a consist problem, check to see if the consist is featured in all the activities that show the error

Ridgid body errors can also be caused by uncompressed shape files.

If it's got buffers it's Chain.

Thanks, but it is not. It is a reversed light engine. I have replaced it with a simpler one and the problem remains.

Has anyone ever managed to find out what the error number means when, as in this case, it always refers to something beginning with 200 which cannot be found in the activity files?

Hi, I thought i had this problem a while ago but couldn,t remember the error number so didn't offer any help.
I think it refers to bad wagon, coach etc. Maybe couplings or brakes changed but brackets missing? The fault i got today was 200222. Checked the A1 consists and there was the dodgy wagon that i thought i had changed (hard to forget as it took me ages to track it down). Used RouteRiter to take the wagon out and the activity loads fine.
Hopes this helps,
Cheers Clive

Hi there,

I remember there used to be a problem with a bogie bolster wagon a few years back when we first started working on activities for Burton-Derby. We replaced the offending wagon in that instance. I am not aware of any troublesome trucks in the Black Country trainset.

Just an update and nothing positive. I have tried all that was suggested (and more) and am still getting this type of RigidBody error on a variety of activities on several routes (not all routes, not all activities). The reference always begins with 200.
