MEGA HELP PLEASE CAB & SOUND

Hello everybody, Serious help needed please.

Due to a copy & paste, cut & paste error, Computer/me, I have managed to lose all my Cab & Sound files that I have collected over the years. Had to Format my computer yesterday, ( Not an MSTS Issue ), and copied all my MSTS files across to my Laptop.

During transfering files back to my Computer I accidentally Cut & Pasted my Cab/Sound fies back to my Computer which would not have been a problem apart from, wait for it, whilst transfering the files the screen blinked for a second and suddenly I had no files loaded on the Computer and no files on my memory stick either, they had totally disappeared.

This is something that has not happened to me before nor did I expect it to. I wonder if anybody else has had any similar experiences. Certainly a new one to me.

Is there anyway of Downloading A Bulk file of Cab & Sound files or have I got to go through the painfull process of downloading them all seperately again.

Any help or suggestions please.

Many thanks

Paul

Could you be a bit more specific? If you told us what cab/sound files you want, I might be able to recommend various routes/freeware CDs with appropriate cab/sound files. Might save you a lot of work :)

Hi, thanks for reply, thanks for a very generous offer but their were over 600 Cab and Sound files that went down the drain!

Regards

Paul

Have you tried a Deleted File recovery program? Unless you formatted the disk the files were being copied from [after losing the files, then they should still be on there, just marked as 'free space'. There is a whole raft out there, free, share, and commercial; see what freebie can do.

Know how you feel - I'm up at 4 every weekday, but Saturday and Sunday usually get me a lie-in until 6....

Hi Paul,
Hope I'm not too late, but do not write anything to the disk/partition where you had the Cab & Sound files. If you do, because Windows thinks the area is free to use, you could over write some of your files.

Cheers,
Ged

Hi Jon and Ged ( above reply ). Thanks for replies.

Always copy and paste, Can delete what's not needed afterwards, learnt a long while ago after previous bad experiences.

Unfortunately, yesterday was a mistake, thought I had copied and pasted and only realised when files were'nt still on my laptop file, but to late.

All is not lost However as I have managed to find some Cab & Sound files that I had saved to CD a while ago so have now retrieved about half of my files back and at first glance they do seem to be most of the Main ones. Soon find out when Cannot find Cab file or Sound file Error messages appear. Still thinking 600 files was to much to have anyway, so now looks like time for a good clear up.

Many thanks

paul
