MSTS In Windows 11

Post by paulco »

Hello everybody.

A Week or so ago, I asked if MSTS would work in Windows 11 ?

Was told if it works in Windows 10, then It should work In Windows 11.

Well, I now have Windows 11 with MSTS Installed and it seems to work sort of

Being new to Windows 11 and It's new setup I have encountered a few hiccups to get around.

Firstly, this new Laptop has no ( F1 to F12 Keys ) which I find rather Strange.

I do have a spare Keyboard, but don't know if you can have Two Keyboards connected to One System.

There are a few thing to get used to In Windows 11 Like there Menu Listings and there all new Desktop Icons, ( wish they had kept them the same as 10 ) but guess I'll have to persevere.

As said MSTS runs in Windows 11 but with some Issues, no "F" keys for starters ?

Many thanks.

Paul.

Hi Paul,

I'm pretty sure that once you plug your other keyboard into the USB socket then the laptop simply disregards the built in keyboard. I always use a separate mouse on my laptop without encountering any problems.

Hi Paul,
I don't have such a laptop, but I'd be very surprised if it didn't provide an option for the F keys because they are essential for many programs, as well as Windows.
Are you sure there isn't a key marked Fn ?

Cheers,
Ged

Hi Ged, apologies again.

Found the Fn Key, you have to hold it down to use the "F Keys" thanks for that.

My Son cannot find the Instruction Manual that came with the Laptop so everything Is Trial and Error at the moment.

Many thanks

Hi Paul,
These days, many items don't come with an instruction manual - at the very best, you get a single sheet of paper!
I suggest you try the manufacturer's website for an on-line version.
