Hi Peter,

Skipton Carlisle V2 1946 (http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-direc ... 9,cls=2387) is worth downloading if you have already downloaded the LMS Rolling Stock for S&C 1920.

GWR Toddington (http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-direc ... 9,cls=1993) is a beautiful Preserved Line that includes Rolling Stock and Activities.

Westvale (http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-direc ... 9,cls=2040) is a fictitous, but very real GWR branchline off the Main Line, but can't remember whether it comes with Stock and Activities.

Alpensee (http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-direc ... 9,cls=1206) is a fictitous Foreign Route and Rolling Stock download.

Have you bought any of the Community CD/DVD's available (http://www.uktrainsim.com/ordercd.php), they come as a 'Complete' Route, all Rolling Stock required and loads of Activities. The price includes Post and Packaging, delivered to your door and you get 1 months Premium membership for each Route purchased for just £4.40, you can't go wrong.

Unfortunately because of size and bandwidth considerations, most routes can't made available as complete downloads including stock and activities. If you want 'single install' simplicity, it really is best to consider the Community CDs. They're not expensive, and include everything (except MSTS itself) to enable you to install the route, the stock and the activities.
If you really prefer to download, you will have to put up with the fact that you will not only have to download, extract and install the route itself, but possibly extras like X-Tracks, UK Finescale, New roads, Magnetic Platforms and others before you even think of rolling stock and activities. Of course, these 'infrastructure' add-ons only need installing once... However for those of a mind to tinker and troubleshoot, there's immense satisfaction in installing it all bit by bit.

Your choice, really.

One route I'd recommend is Dorset Coast v3 which is Waterloo - Basingstoke - Southampton - Bournemouth - Weymouth (with the Basingstoke - Reading branch). You can download just the route http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-direc ... 9,cls=1710, or the route complete with stock and 100+ activities at http://new.atomic-systems.com/asp/cdOrder.aspx.

Once you've installed version 3 of the route, you can download versions 4 & 5 which add lots more track. By the time you've finished you will have most of the South Central division of BR's Southern Region installed on your PC!

Do bear in mind it's a very demanding route. My PC has an 2.67 Ghz DualCore processor, 2GB of RAM and a Nvidia GeForce 8600GT graphics card and I still have to turn down the settings (especially near Waterloo) so it runs without crashing. I suggest that if your PC doesn't have at least a 2ghz dualcore processor and a decent graphics card you will have problems running it.

As a quick update to my earlier post, two East Anglian routes, come to mind.
Thaxted has an introductory activity with the route, and there are a few which use basic GER stock available in just one or two downloads.
Southwold is a narrow-gauge route, but there is a Route download, and a Stock and Activities download.

You don't say whether you want steam or modern era; both these are set in very early days - pre grouping!
