Skipton v2

Post by Iceman68 »

Hello All,

I've just downloaded the Skipton-Carlisle local activity for the Skipton v2 route, and I keep getting the following message:

Error reading train database file

File: Trains\Trainset\C15-D8613\C15-8613_chain.eng

Although it doesn't stop the activity working it is a bit of a pain to keep clicking yes to continue. Does anyone know where I can download this file from please?

Many Thanks

Hi
Welcome to the forums. :P

Not totally sure, but it looks as if you require the Class 15 Donation CD

Hi Peter, I've had to buy many a Commercial CD to get exactly the loco or stock I require, let me assure you it is worth buying them as I have always been impressed with the quality of them.

Hi, Activity Analiser gives you the ability to replace any item of missing rolling stock with another item from your trainset folder, and is pretty easy to use.

Hi
No .... this is an activity for the route.
You can use the route without the Class 15

Hi Iceman68 and Peter, I have already run the Skipton-Carlisle Local :-
Click to view more informationSkipton to Carlisle Local [6093 bytes] - Skipton-Carlisle_Local.zip
File ID: 18826 Date: 31 Mar 2009 - 796 Downloads

on the original version of the Route Skipton_Carlisle 1920 and looking at the A.A. printout which I always do before running the Activity and nowhere does it say that you need the C15-D8613\C15-D8613_chain.eng file.
This file also can be used on the Version 2 of the Route and so Peter you can install the Route and run this Activity without the need to buy the C15 Donation CD which contains only C17's Claytons type of loco.
PS Iceman68, thinking about this you can this sort of error when MSTS is installing an Activity and is looking through all your Consists and finding a fault among them i.e. missing Loco file.
Do a Consists check through Route-riter and it will highlight the faulty one and you can move it away from MSTS, say in your My-Documents Folder and this will prevent the error message appearing.
I have had quite a good look around and nowhere can I find this particular engine so I wonder how you managed to get a Consist that needs it ?.

You can also use convoi freeware from activity simulator world or conbuilder payware,or route riter and just swap the missing loco for one thats suitable from the libery, there is a suitable LMS diesel in the libary that will make an ideal replacement.
