All versions have the station names. it sounds like you either need to turn you settings up a bit, or something didnt install correctly. Are you running it on XP or Vista. If Vista take a look at the Msts on Vista threads to make sure you have everything set up correctly.

heya everyone i am having trouble with the Train Simulator Editors & Tools. i have created a activity starting with player service from the battledown to waterloo this works fine and i can change points and send it on the up local or the up fast no problems but i have now tried to put in a reading service running the local as traffic and i can not change points to send it the right direction i would like it to.

i then went back to my waterloo activity because i wanted to send it via fleet and farnbrough and could not change points im not sure what i have done but on all routes i create or edit i can no longer choose what track they are on.

any ideas what i have done?

Sounds like you need to set up the player path so you dont need to change any points manually.

Hi
Do you mean in AE while making the acitivity, or in the game running the activity.

If its in AE a right click on the track node (black spot) gives you the option 'Take the other exit'.
The green line will then follow the new path.
If its in the gme the player path will follow the green line set in AE, unless you come to a 'manual point' which can be switched in the normal way (G Key).

cheers
Jon

Hi cilperiswh,

Perhaps stating the obvious, but are you trying to change points that are not on the Player Path (Shown by the Green line) ?

First of all make sure you have path points turned on, then they will show green if they are changeable. Not all points can be changed as some only allow movement in one direction. Assuming that the point you want to change is green so it can be changed, if when you right click on a path point you dont get the "take other exit" option it sounds like the AE registry files may have been corrupted. This happens fairly often.

If you do a search on the forum for Hwrenderer you will find threads which tell you how to edit your computer registry file, deleting the Activity Editor registry settings. When you restart the activity editor after a reboot they will be recreated with default values again :)

i was wondering if anyone could give me some instructions on how to create a activity on the activity editor where you go to waterloo in a 3 car 159 wait for a AI train to come and join to the back of your train at waterloo to create a 5 car formed of a 158 and 159 switch cabs and then take it back to basingstoke once you let passengers off at basingstoke shunt into the long valley sidings?

Ouch! My first thought is that it can be done but would need the Bin patch to be installed so that you can change cabs, the relevant stock to be fully Bin compliant for the same reason, and some very careful driving of the player service and setting up of the AI train to ensure that the coupling of the two trains works and does not derail one of the trains. I'd be inclined to wait until you are a lot more experienced in writing activities before trying to deal with this one.
Why would you run a 158 and 159 only to Basingstoke from Waterloo anyway? As far as I know, DMUs only run through Basingstoke if they are running on non-electrified lines - either through Reading (that's GW anyway) or Salisbury - which Waterloo to Basingstoke definitely isn't..
