Are these routes and train stock available anywhere, please?
Hi all,
I'm new to MSTS and just I was just wondering if someone could tell me please whether or not my favourite routes and train stock are available to download or buy. I appreciate the work that goes into designing routes and train stock and everything I'm looking for might not be available and I apologise if I am asking too much.
These are my favourite routes - are they available anywhere, please? - I suspect that I am asking too much, for which I apologise, but if you don't ask....
West Coast Main Line
Stansted Airport to Birmingham New Street - especially from Nuneaton to New Street.
Nuneaton to Coventry
Coventry to Birmingham New Street via Birmingham International.
Trent Valley Line to Holyhead via Crewe, Chester and North Wales Coast.
Any other routes in the West Midlands.
Are the Nuneaton, Coventry and Birmingham stations available?
The following are my favourite train stock -
Arriva CrossCounty - Turbostar 170 (turquoise and purple liveries), 220 Voyager, 221 Voyager
Virgin - Any Virgin trains stock - old and new including pendolinos and voyagers - 220 Voyager, 221 Voyager, Class 87, Class 90, Class 390 Pendolino
London Midland - Turbostar 170 - are they available with the (new?) "city" branding/livery?
Thank you very much in advance for any advice. It's very much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Steve.

Coventry - New St is available as part of West Coast Express by Europeanbahn.
The North Wales Coast is coming soon http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 62&t=73084 for more details
Turbostars are available - search the download library for Class 170 - similary do a search on Virgin to find all Virgin stock available. There was at one point a XC Voyager, but I think it's been withdrawn from the library.

Nuneaton is on Thames Mersey community CD, which covers the mainline from Euston to Liverpool. It doesnt go to Birmingham though. Crewe and Chester are also both on Thames Mersey. It comes in two versions on the same disk, a steam version and a modern (1980's) version. One electrified and one not

May I just add. Thames Mersey Route is best purchased from CD Ordering, here on UKTrainsim, rather than downloading it, as you get all the stock and activities as well with the DVD version. You must have a DVD Rom Drive, as this route comes on DVD. Other Midlands Routes worth getting are Burton Derby & Canock Chase V5, all avialable from here, by download or CD Ordering for the complete route & stock packages.Lad491 wrote:Nuneaton is on Thames Mersey community CD, which covers the mainline from Euston to Liverpool. Hi Steve,
There is also Cross City avaliable by Europeanbahn (take it off the CD ordering page) which has the aqua green turbostars with central trains branding on. Also if you took a look at the turbostars there are several interiors avaliable on the XC ones. Also you get a Virgin 220 (or is it a 221) with the route aswel as a 323 and I think there is a few others.
Personally I recommend you to get Thames Mersey as the route is excellent and you get tons of rolling stock and over 100+ activities for £4.40. Not tried Burton - Derby but I heard its a good route to have aswel as the cannock chase route.

Many thanks for the great replies - they are very much appreciated.
Just a quick question - is the Thames Mersey add-on available as a paid-for download anywhere or is it only available on DVD?
I've found a site which advertises the Cross City add-on as a download, is the same option available for Thames Mersey?
Cheers,
Steve.

The full DVD for Thames Mersey is only available from the CD ordering page. Shipments are Tuesday and Friday with next day delivery (postman willing) normal in the UK.
You can download the route from this site but the download does not include any stock or activities.

If your interest in the Midlands is a little wider, both Cannock Chase and Burton-Derby are excellent routes with plenty of track, stations and sidings, good scenery with a lot of industrial sites, plenty of stock and a good batch of activities. But buy them on the community CDs and save yourself a lot of hassle.

Before down loading the Cross City route make sure it comes with activities and stock as I believe EB are selling them as seperate packages,so as you can choose what you want, the best way to go about is to by the CD as it's the complete package.
Also the same goes for the excellent Thames - Mersey route CD,which comes with everything including Virgin stock, also has 2 batch files so as you can switch from modern to steam and back again.Buying the CD/DVD's save all the hassle of trying to find activities and stock, especialy as you look new to MSTS.
Burton-Derby and Cannock Chase are also excellent CD's but are set in the steam era,I have both + Thames -Mersey DVD,you could buy all 3 for the cost of 1 EB Route.

You can get Cross-city as a full download(route/stock/activities) from First Class Simulations
http://www.simsoftware.co.uk/product_in ... ucts_id=90
It's where I got my copy from.

Hi Robbie, and welcome to the forums
Unfortuantely, the Scottish Central route is no longer available to order from the UKTS CD Ordering page.
It can only be obtained from one of the UKTS-Live roadshows (see diary for details of the nearest one to you http://www.uktrainsimlive.com/ukts_diary.asp) but it is free of charge.

Re: Are these routes and train stock available anywhere, please?
Diary seems to be up the spout at the moment - listing all months as Jan, and only COLCH09 is clickable which gives a 404 error??

Because UKTS are withdrawing from the majority of planned demonstrations (see separate thread on the UKTS live section) im guessing the diary was being updated and a gremlin has crept in. Im sure it will be fixed soon.
