Some ENG files are designed to only work for non-drivable Locos Such as an AI loco which hauls the traffic you see in an activity or the trailing loco in a consist. These ENG file have no CabView line so they are Non-Drivable. The MSTS Consist Editor does not warn you that you have placed a non-drivable ENG at the head of a consist. However ConBuilder does give you a warning when a non-drivable is placed into a consist. One of the many add-on tools provided by ConBuilder.

It does when you go to place that consist, if there isnt a drivable loco then it always tells you that :)

But the "it" you are refering to is the Activity Editor not the Consist Editor. :o

Well the consist editor is part of the activity editor. You need to run the activity editor to use the consist editor. When you have assembled your consist, when you click save it will tell you if its not a driveable consist. You dont have to write an activity. Its fine and nothing else is needed :)

I was basing my answer on what you said:

I stand corrected. But ConBuilder is more user friendly in that it tell you when the item is place in the consist, not at the point you are saving the consist.

I forgot that as well as telling you when you place a consist, it also tells you when you save a consist too. Which is why i didnt mention it in the earlier post.
