MSTS1 on Dell Laptop

I have a Dell Latitude D620. I've install MSTS on it, and the 1.2 updates. However, when I start the icon, "MProfile" kicks in and says "No Graphics Accelerator". The machine has an Intel 945GM chipset, so this should be OK. So, I try to run train.exe, and this re-sizes my screen, but then after about 30-45 seconds, I get a Windows debugger error, and the whole things dies

How can I get MSTS to work on this machine?

You will need to see if your graphics chip supports hardware acceleration. Sometimes it needs to be turned on by a box tick. If it doesnt support hardward accelaration then i dont think msts will run.

Until fairly recently not many laptops would run games very well or at all. I have a two year old Toshiba and it wont even look at msts but my new Tosh with a dedicated Ati Radeon graphics cards runs it fine

My old Dell D620 and the 610 before it both ran MSTS just fine - you do need to make sure you have installed everything properly and I put the latest version of DirectX on there anyway but I have no idea if it was needed.

Run dxdiag - Start Run dxdiag - to see whether and how Direct X is et up on your laptop.
