Hi everyone, Could anyone please tell me if it is possible to add stock to sidings and/or yards on a route,
such as the wonderful Skipton-Carlisle, in such away that no matter what activity I run, the stock remains in
situ,

Hi
Yes you can.
Basically you need to add the wagons as scenery to the route, shape files to shapes folder, textures to textures folder.
Add the items to the routes ref file (Route Riter can do this for you).
Then place them using RE.
Cheers

There is a tutorial here.

Using my static wagons will be tricky as you will have to place them one at a time.
It will take ages to fill a yard and get them accurately positioned.
Much easier to edit the activity and place them as static consists.
Skipton already contains scenic trains of wagons you could use.
There are also some in Thames Mersey.

Hi All,
The need for this may have been superceeded by TrainStore and the BinPatch. But wasn't there a guide somewhere, called 'Making/Creating a Master Activity', it was early days of MSTS. That enabled the use of a pre-prepared act. on a route with static consists included. To be renamed when a new act. was made, and all the consists would be there.
I even printed it out, Can I find it? can I heck.
I sure someone will put me right.

the bit i found the most tricky was getting the train lined up on the track (placed a class 483 on line at Ryde St Johns Road on my Island Line). i would either get it off the rails left or right, and missed the top of the rails most often. i was also getting the nose down and bottom up or visa versa!
my suggestion is try a wagon or such that isnt hugely odscure in shape first (simple box wagon or something) then progress to complex. i didnt think of that when i did mine.
good luck
