I've just came back into trainsim after about 6 months away on BVE and simsig, and have ran into a problem.

When I load train sim up, and it gets to the options screen, none can be loaded, there dull and can't be highlighted.

Just a "quick" run though to whats none standard for original installation.

East coast express (1,2,3 & 4 , with any europeanbahn patches)

I have also downloaded UKTS_19287_westcoastacts and all the stock (and got it working, which i can't normally do)

One thing i did notice was when unpacking one of the activities in the pack is said the trackbase of WCE is 1643, when i need 2145. Is there a patch i haven't noticed which can cause the problem I'm experiancing with the menu.

Hi Mark, not having any experience on Vista, I only run XP and I think you should look at the Forum section on Vista covering this topic as I think you must alter your settings to run as an Administrator to get things working as before.

The symptoms you describe are not the sort of thing you would get by not setting MSTS to run on Vista.

What I fear is that you've installed everything in one go...and MSTS fails to work correctly, and you've no idea which installation has caused the problem.

The golden rule is to install one thing and test. Never install the next add-on until you're happy the previous install is working correctly, and any problems sorted out.

We don't normally give this sort of advice....but it you can't easily get things going again, then the best course of action might be to ininstall everything and start again.....and install MSTS first, make the necessary permission changes to the Train Simulator folder (see the Vista section for details) and test...then install and test things one at a time.

Just trying to get my head round this. Do the other routes you've got installed work OK at the moment? Is it just trying to drive a train on WCE that is causing the problem?

With regards to file 19287, all of these activities were creating using WCE Parts 1&2 (no patches) joined together.

Every other route works fine, so it is just a problem with WCE, which unfortunatly was my main reason for installing it, i'll try uninstalling WCE and re-installing

EDIT: got it all working . Thanks for the help and advice. Seems the europeanbahn patch causes more problems than it fixes

Glad you were able to sort things out. Starting a MSTS installation from scratch is a daunting task!! and I'm pleased you didn't have to do it.

I've had for days off, just got dorset coast V5 up and running. And because I don't understand how to extract properly, i copy and paste everything, now thats what i call daunting, but not half as much as making the glorious route
