Yorkshire Coast Route Missing Shape

Post by thegeneral1 »

I am new to this simulator and am still very much feeling my way. As I am 66 my computer knowledge is only average. When I open This route at the Kettleness end it tells me that file Alt250r5dRndTun.s is missing. I have checked Global\Shapes and it is not there.Obviously it is being called for by the route and it is not finding it. What is the best thing to do?

Sorry but this is the wrong forum, you want to go here:

They should be able to help more, and welcome to the forums.

You don't say if this is the CD or download version - you need UK Finescale installed, among other things that are specified in the Readme. Check that you have installed everything required.

Alternatively, if you have downloaded this route, it might be easier for you to buy the Community CD for £4.50, which includes the route, all the additional files, stock and activities, and gives you a month's Premium Membership to download other things.

My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558

Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.

Hi Mark, I used the Community Cd so mine works o.k., but have a look in the MSTS programme files, click first on the Global folder and then the Shapes folder inside.
The file you are after is in there, so all you have to do is copy this and any other files you are missing into the correct location i.e. the Shapes folder in the Yorkshire Coast Route directory.
I have had to do this many times when on trying a Route it won't load properly because on initialisation somewhere along the line it did not copy the relevant file from the 6 installed MSTS Routes.

Hope this helps

Bob

The missing file is a track file that wouldn't have been copied by the batch file - they stay in the Global\Shapes folder, and mark has looked for it there. It is more likely that UKFinescale isn't installed.

Thank you both for your ideas. I have checked that all the necessary bits such as fine Scale were loaded. I have now ordered the CD and will do a reload when it arrives in about 10 days.

Regards
