Hi, can anyone explain why after succeeding installing several downloaded Activities for the Far North Line 1.5 Route which is one of the five supplied in a compilation obtained from the Main CD ordering site last year.
I have checked each Activity through Activity Analyser after each loading and successfully installed some stock not yet in my computer and on two occassions I have, as told by the author changed some stock for ones I have got.
Unfortunately when dragging some Activities over the Tsunpack icon in the Utils folder, I am presented with a message "This Package requires a Route called Far North Line, UID Wick", is this because they were produced for an earlier version of the Route.
If I cannot use them, I will just delete them to clear the way for newer ones, any comments would be gratefully appreciated.
Yours Bob

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall that Vern (route author) re-named the route after it's original version was updated. However, just in case we're missing the obvious, you do have the Far North route unstored in Train Store, don't you? If not, the act won't recognise that you actually have the route on your system and will throw up the exact error message you got.

Hi Ashley, yes I always unstore everything in Trainstore before doing changes to MSTS and I have just checked for sure that the route is unstored in Trainstore and yes, that is the way it is at present.
Looking at when the Activities causing the problems and they were all written around 2002 and probably were for the original titled route and so I must assume that I cannot run the unless there is a way of changing them.
Thanks for comment.

Re: Problem Installing some Activities on Far North Line
Make a fake route to fool the unpacker.
In the Routes folder, create a folder called Wick and copy the .trk and Load.ace into it
Rename the .trk file to Wick.trk
Open the .trk file and change the Route ID entry to Wick and the name to Far North Line.
This will allow the activity to to install and create Activity, Path, Services, Traffic and a Trains folder containing the consists.
Copy the files in these folders into the full route but don't allow any files to overwrite.
Use the editor to check for broken paths and repair them.
If you can't repair them the activity won't work so just delete the .act file.
The other files won't do any harm.

Re: Problem Installing some Activities on Far North Line
Hi Ian, phew thanks for your information, I will certainly give a go after reading carefully your instructions.
At the moment I'm giving my old brain a rest to watch the tele for a while, makes a change from working on the computer.
I knew there would be a way to do it but I tend to stick to things I know well i.e. motorbikes and cars but computers and programes are beyond me but I'm willing to learn.
I'll let you know how I get on.
