Hi, can anyone explain why I am getting a Faulty Front View error on the above loco.
I was trying am Activity in the Burton Derby 1950 CD tonight and the Activity ran alright except that when I pressed Shift 1 to remove the Front Cab view, I could see the front Buffers and a dark grey horizontal handle type bar just above the Next Station Display and behind the Route Marker display I could see other bits of the engine also not removed.
It didn't stop me doing the Activity but I should have an un-interupted view ahead after pressing the Shift 1 keys, so what can I do to correct these faults.
Thanks for any comments.
Bob

Hi Bob
It might be a freight animation still showing.
Cheers

Hi Jon and Ian, thanks for your replies, ah well I'll live with the news that it cannot be removed.
I thought no harm in asking and now I'll get back to other activities on the Route.
Yours Gratefully Bob

Just to confirm that it is the freightanim showing. There is no way to stop this, I'm afraid.
When i come to update the model, I will run it through decapods shape file fixer, which will eliminate the need to use a freightanim on the loco.
Cheers,
Kevin

Hi kevin, I have saved the Decapods Shape Fixer File download as for a month I am a Premium Member so it was easy to do this.
I am not a computer buff so that is why I post certain questions when I observe a fault like this and if you can explain what to do after you have tried it, I would be gratefull.
Thanks Bob

Hi Bob,
I would have to alter and then re-export the loco using my 3D software (canvas pro in my case) to "move" the frieghtanim into the main model file, before running the file through shape file fixer. This is only something I can do, I'm afraid.
I do have a new, more detailed version of the loco in make, and will issue that as soon as I have it finished.
Cheers,
Kevin

Hi Kevin, thanks for the info, I see there is a download in the system of this loco and but I suppose this has the same fault as well so a complete new version is the only way forward.
I wish you well in your task, I take it from your comments that it will it be available for general downloading, and if so can you send me a PM when it is ready so that I will know when to do a search for it.
Regards Bob

I don't class it as a fault. The loco was quite detailed for it's time. There is a limit to how detailed you can make a model before it causes the program to crash. A way around this is to put some of the extra detail onto a freightanim. The downside is that the freight anim will be visible in the forward view. I considered this acceptable, if it allowed me to make a resonable loco.
Pauls Shape file fixer program, which obviates the need for using frieght anims, has only been available for a few months.
I'll try and rmember to PM you but my memory is notoriously bad
Cheers,
Kevin
