Hi, can anybody help me understand exactly I must do when in the Track Monitor display the Route Arrow bends right round, does this mean that as soon as I see it ahead, I stop the Train slowly and reverse direction or do I wait until I reach it and then reverse.
This occurs on at least two of the Activities in the Bala Hub Route, I have waited until I get better at the straight forward ones before I give them another go.
Thanks for any advice
Bob

Wait until the arrow dissapears and then reverse.
Check on camera 3 to make sure you have cleared the points.
You sometimes have to go a a long way beyond the points.

Hi Ian, Thanks for your prompt reply, I'll give that a try the next time I do a run and see the bendy Route Arrow ahead.
It is certainly great that I can call on the members like you to solve the problems that MSTS throws up from time to time.
Regards Bob

Sometimes though, the "bendy arrow" can also indicate the position of a double reverse point, used to break your onward path temporarily. In those instances you dont reverse at all, but merely continue over them. Usually they will be before a signal and you will probably have to stop a while until you get the road ahead. So you will need to have read the briefing too, to know whether you would expect to reverse there or not.
Its one of the reasons I now prefer to use Multiple Wait Points to break the onward path. No reverse point showing and so no confusion

Re: Understanding Track Monitor Arrows
Hi Lad491, yes that is something else I learnt today, but in the Bala Hub Activities where I have seen them, in one case I leave Barmouth Junction Station heading towards Barmouth and my next station is Barmouth Junction again, possibly arriving on the other platform before heading back up to Bala Junction, the other one is called LMS Auto Shuttle Excursion and you travel from Ruthin towards Corwen backwards using a Push-Pull Train and then at Corwen stopping for 30secs before heading forwards backup the line taking the right hand fork to Ruabon.
The following Activity is called LMS Auto Shuttle Excursion Return and is obviously the same route in the opposite direction, I haven't as yet got to Corwen as I usually make a mess of the timetable at the start so I will have another go at all of them later on.
So I think in the First Activity you actually stop on reaching the bendy Route Arrow and reverse while the second and third Activities you stop at the station before reversing.
Anyway thanks again for all your posts and I will remember what you have told me.
Regards Bob
