I'l recently had to rebuild my PC after a few technical problems. As a result of this, I lost my MSTS configuration. I had built it up over time, installing alot of commerical routes and UKTrainSim stock/activities. I also used Train Store and MSTSBin.
I'm finding now that as I try to install the commerical routes, when I test MSTS after each install, it doesn't load. If I delete the route, e.g. back to it's default configuration, it loads up no problem.
I thought it might be related to using XTracks, Finescale and an up to date TSection.dat but I've installed these before installing the routes and still get the same problems. Do I need to be more specific in how I re-install these routes e.g. release date order? That should then prevent any over-writting issues which I suspect is what the problem is.
If anyone has got any advice on doing this I would be grateful.
PS. TrainStore and MSTSBin not installed yet. Thought I'd get the routes installed first although TrainStore might be needed soon with 17 routes to re-install!!!

Hi
A bit late now......... but thats why people are advised to save backups.
Some people burn the routes to Dvds when they have them running properly.
There's no quick way........you'll have to install each route......and test.
Commercial routes should install correctly, although most have to then be patched.
Nearly every route will require the Tsection updating AFTER installing.....so keep a copy handy.........most routes add anything required to the Global folder during installation.
Cheers
Jon
PS 17 routes is small.........I think I've got around 85 or so...

Thanks for the info. Backup routine on the list of things to do once I've got this sorted.
I thought would you advise might be the case. But I'm still having problems. For example, fresh MSTS install, patched to 1.2. Installed London - Brighton, MSTS works no problem at all after tsection33 copied over. Installed London Brighton Add Pack with tsection33, MSTS won't load, freezes at the loading screen. Delete LBE folder, MSTS works fine. Second example, install Dorset Coast v3 CD, golbals first, then route, then stock & activities, copied tsection33 over, MSTS freezes again. Delete Dorset folder, MSTS works fine.
I just can't seem to figure out what's causing MSTS to lock up. Still, thanks for the info, I'll keep trying and testing. Then BACK IT UP!!!
