Head on collision with vehicle on OTHER line?

Post by thegoonden »

Recently on a Dorset coast activity (not sure which one as I am in work not in front of my PC, but it was a recent one downloaded from here), I stopped at a station, while sitting there I saw a tanker train approaching.

Suddenly I'm flung into the outside view and witnessing a horrific scene of tankers and passenger cars scattering all over the platforms.

Reloaded a few times and tried passing the train at different points along the line by messing my timekeeping up, no joy, I still get rammed.

Could this be a "bounding box" problem that I've seen mentioned round here a lot (ie, the collision surface of the engine is larger than it's image, and is fouling the other rails?

If so, what's would be the best way to A. Find out which loco is ramming me, and B. change it.

Thanks.

What you describe certainly sounds like a bounding box issue. I think the 47's had a problem at one stage although all on the cd (I think) were fixed. However if you have downloaded stock it may well still have a problem.

You can turn bounding box viewer on by pressing a key combination - try a search for the right one or someone may post it here - ive forgotten :( I believe route-riter can now fix bounding box issues :)

Cheers chaps, I'll take a crack at it when Nurburgring Qually is over. Hope I can find the act again.

Must confess, game or not, the ferocity and suddeness of it all genuinely shook me the first time.

There's a tutorial that might be of help: http://steam4me.railpage.org.au/trainsi ... ength.html

Note: there's a screenshot of a bounding box on a PFE reefer that's WAY out of line about 2/3rds of the way down the tutorial which may be similar to one of your models causing your collision.

Also Route Riter can help you fix your rolling stock: visit http://steam4me.railpage.org.au/trainsi ... stock.html
