CC5 Install Problem

Post by hawkwind123 »

I have downloaded the CC5 zips and when I try to install from the exe file I keep getting the following message :CC5\TEXTURES\AcleanTracks1.PRV is missing or unreadable,I have D\loaded the zips 3 times but still get the same message.I would be grateful if someone could guide me to correct this problem so I can D\load the route.

Hi there,

AcleanTrack1.PRV I think is a track texture file. It is part of the download but I am not sure which zip it is in. The file is 943k in size so if it is missing we may be able to determine which zip you have the problem with. When unzipped right click and properties for the following files and see if they match these values on the size line

Cannock_Chase.DO1 is 30,720,000 bytes
Cannock_Chase.DO2 is 30,720,000 bytes
Cannock_Chase.DO3 is 30,720,000 bytes
Cannock_Chase.DO4 is 28,552,997 bytes
Cannock_Chase.exe is 30,719,982 bytes.

hope this helps

CC5 Install Problem

Post by hawkwind123 »

Hi Mickcrik,
I tried what you suggested and this is what I got:

Cannock_Chase.DO1.is 30,707,712 bytes
Cannock_Chase.DO2 is 30,670,848 bytes
Cannock_Chase.DO3 is 30,720,000 bytes
Cannock_Chase.DO4 is 30,670,848 bytes
Cannock_Chase.exe is 30,707,712 bytes.

Not quite the same as you indicated so I dont know which of the Zips the rouge file is part of, so perhaps you may have an idea.there only seems to one of the zips that relate to your originals.Sorry to be a pain but I would like to install the route,
Regards ,Hawkwind

Hi Craig

You can download the track textures, file ID 9694 which has those files in
it. Let us know if this fixes it.

Hi there,

I downloaded the zips from UKTS last night to check they were the right size and they seem to be ok. I unpacked them into a temporary folder and installed them into a fictitious msts installation.

When antivirus/spyware was switched on the installation was very hesitant and stalled. Disconect from the internet and swichh off the AV and spyware and the installation flew through.

Mickrik

Which anti-virus and spyware are you running?? I have a feeling this is a problem with some packages...and not with others.

Just to eliminate one combination, I've never had any installation problems while running AVG Free antivirus and Zonealarm free firewall (cheapskate I am) - I've installed CC5 from CD so can't comment on the downloaded version.

Hi Doug

I am running Avast 4.7 Antivirus (superb program and free)

Webroot Spysweeper for spyware (costs money but worth it for the stuff it finds)
