Coupling Strengths

Post by expressboy1983 »

Hiya again everyone :D

Where in the .ENG/.WAG files do i change the coupling strength so it's stronger?

I assume its something to do with this line in the .ENG :-

Coupling (
Type ( Automatic )
Spring (
Stiffness ( 1e6N/m 5e6N/m )
And i also assume its something to do with the same line in the .WAG file...however, im not too sure what to change :-?

Thanks in advance

Try changing the following settings :
Type ( Automatic )
Spring (
Stiffness ( 1e7N/m 1e7N/m )
Damping ( 6e9N/m/s 6e9N/m/s )
Break ( 7e7N 7e7N )
Make sure the damping setting is shown as N/m/s and not N/m which is the default setting. The break setting as shown should be strong enough to resist most coupling breaks :)

Hi Lad :)

Does this need to be done on both the engine, AND and front leading carriage? or juss the engine?

Thanks in advance again

I would change all stock in the consist. Engine and wagons / coaches. Otherwise you may get a coupling break further along the train :(
