Eurostar/TGV model always gets 'stuck' at ~145mph...

Post by rigdon2491 »

Hello all,

I've got a problem where the TGV and Eurostar will not go much further than 145mph. It accelerates normally up to about 130mph, pulling hard and with the projected speed 190mph and climbing. Then, all of a sudden, once the speed hits the 140mph mark, the projected speed drops to about 145mph, and it won't budge.

I'm not totally sure on how it works, but I'd assume the various TGV/Eurostar sets I've downloaded are just skins of one "base" TGV, and there's a fault with that one.

Any ideas?

PS: I've downloaded a TGV model off this site, maybe a year ago, and it worked fine... :-?

Thanks in advance.

Have a look in the eng file for the MaxVelocity line... I bet it reads 145mph...

Probably set for use in the UK where mostly they can't even get to that speed.

I've checked this and they read either 186mph or 200mph.

OK... well it was an idea... I can't think what else it might be.

Good luck

Of course, you could always compare it to one of the working (up to full speed) TGV eng files.

Hi
Chances are you need to increase the HP of the power cars.
A train eventually uses all the available power just to keep going, there is no spare power to accelerate further.
Cheers

Hi there,

I got around the problem by experimenting with the horsepower output. Just as a suggestion - how about entering 13185hp for the horsepower and maybe you will get more punch from the powercars then :). I am fairly new to MSTS myself but I am sure that you will learn many tricks through trail and error
