Moving scenery items from one route to another

Post by model321 »

Hi there, i was wondering if it is possible to move an item of scenery from one route to another by means of copying and pasting the shape files and texture file from on route to another. Is this actually possible?

Thanks

yes - this is what the majority of install batch files do when you install a new route, they copy stuff from the default routes across to your new route. You can do the same thing for your new route too, but remember that if you intend to make that route available to others, by download from here for instance, you will need to get the permission of the author for anything not in the original MSTS.

As Laurie says, it's done in most routes. But I guess your question is related to placing the items in a nothe route.

To do this, you need to create an entry in the xxxx.ref file in the route folder.

Edit the file with Wordpad (or any unicode text editor) and add an entry for the added scenery item. Follow the syntax of previous entries....
