Problem with Great Eastern activity
I'm having a problem with activity 5, Liverpool St to Clacton & Harwich. Approaching Gidea Park around mp 13 the screeen freezes, sound continues, and I then get an error message saying "no extended shape data for Dynatrax 40386.s can anyone help with this please?

The error message refers to a piece of finescale trackwork so obviously it will showup whenever the required tile is loaded. The .s file may be present but the .sd file (which is what the 'extended shape data' means) is probably not. While not every .s file has an associated .sd file, most do, and without it the .s file is effectively incomplete.
With GE being a self-installing route, I'm not sure if it's possible to extract that file alone from the CD and reinstall it; a full reinstall of GE would be the only option in that case - which seems rather like using a JCB to sugar your tea...
Maybe Making Tracks, the authors of the route, can help.

I would say that you have the Dynatracks section installed and already there and its more than definately a Memory issue. Failure to load track sections is an Over load of memory. Try changing your settings.
If you want a more definaitve answer i suggest you move this question to the making tracks forum

Thanks for the suggestions, I seem to have discovered an interesting conundrum here, if I reduce the display settings the route refuses to load (crashes out approx 75% into setting up simulation user interface) if I increase display settings route loads but crashes out whenever train approaches Gidea Park. I tried approaching Gidea Park on an outside camera view and crashed out on a tree shape error message instead of a track shape! I'm assuming now that this is probably a PC resources issue, maybe it's time for the new PC I've been promising myself for a while.
Before I make that decision I'll try the route out on my son's much higher spec PC next week - if it's OK on that then I think the decisions made.
Happy new year everyone.

Great Eastern problem
Hi
Have you tried installing the Bin patch - that should sort out the MSTS memory handling problems for you, as well as having many other benefits. And if your not happy with it, you can easily remove it.
If you want more information on this, have a look at the Bin Patch forum below.

Are you using the recommended options as listed in the manual ?
All the acts were written and tested without MSTSBin to work on reasonable spec machines without a problem.
Does your spec meet the minimum spec listed ? (I've seen reports that GE will run perfectly well at specs far lower than the minimum)

I assume you installed patch 1.1 before you installed patch 1.2 ?
