Train de-railing

Hi All!

Now firstly, I would like to say a really big thank you for helping me out with regards to my sim crashing when I was route editing. If any of you remember i was having a problem with the tiles or something, and i was advised about installing some bit of software, which sorts out tile overloading! Its all sovled and saves beautifully!! Clapham really looks the business, although building clapham a-box took ages, although i used bits of buildings and huts put together, it does look great! I have to say though not as good as if I went about it the better way of proper building one so, im keeping my fingers crossed for the forthcoming steam dorset coast route as i think there will be lots and lots of the origional boxes, goodies for that route, to look at when driving a train through clapham. Anyone know how its progressing, completion date perhaps!?!

Anyway, so sidetracked!! I had a little issue when approaching clapham on my LBE route! Hands up i did have the graphics set quite high, and of course can re-adjust them, but the train for some reason just seems to de-rail, and I have no idea as to why it does this! Anyone out there could possibly help?

Many thanxs!

Karim :D

Hi Karim,
when approaching clapham on my LBE route! .... graphics set quite high, .... but the train for some reason just seems to de-rail
Please let us know which activity you were using when this happened - it may help. Otherwise, if you were in Explore mode, what stock were you using?

It's very unlikely that it's due to the way you've got the graphics set :)

Cheers,
Ged

Hi Karim, I take it that you are doing an Activity for the Route because I can confidently say
that if you are, it is not your train that is derailing.
This Error message is caused by AI traffic colliding either on creation because another train
which is at the same position or at a crossover due to one going faster than it should and
hitting the other.
As MSTS cannot report where this is happening and it reports that it is your Train derailing,
if you are happy with the MSTS Editor and Tools, why not use the Activity Editor and load
the problem Activity and set the clock in VCR to the start time and run the Activity.
If there are any problems with AI Traffic not being able to be placed at any time in the run
at least you will know where to start in trying to solve the problem.

Or of course to solve it completely, you could just turn derailments off in the options screen.

Hi there!

Thanxs for the reply all!! Okay well, if I remember its a southbound brighton activity, and the stock was one of those hal/pul units! Its never done this before when driving one of these units! I def can report I never edit train movements its so easy to cause conflicts with other trains and I would have no idea how fix a problem shud it arise! With this activity, there are no other trains around!! Strange!

Whilst speaking about the act editor can anyone help here?

Okay, on some activities when i try to access the AE, it tries to load and then just crashes straight back to windows! So there is no way i can edit anything!! Now some of the vities will load in the AE, and as soon as I place a static train on the map part, and this is not on any track where there are any train movements, including my train, the AE will then not work and crashes when I try to bring it up! Anyone can help at all?? :D

Many thanks

Karim

Hi Karim,
Set Display to Medium 16bit. befor starting editors and tools.
The AE does not like higher because it's getting on a bit now.

For me the latest MSTSBIN download and it's memory management option helped on XP SP3 and I was able to keep 32bit display.

Good luck
Doug
