MSTS freezing on start up

Post by craigy »

Hi all,
i have just reinstalled msts on my computer, but it loads up the opening screen very slowly, then freezes. I think it might be a video card issue but not sure as i have all the upto date drivers. What up dates do i need for MSTS and do i get them from Microsoft?. It used to load and play perfectly before, so if i have missed something off, can you tell me please. Many thanks.
i am running windows xp sp2

Hi craigy,
There is only one update for MSTS, but it's not necessary to get it running properly in default mode. Make sure nothing else is running on your PC - if necessary, disconnect from the Internet and stop your anti-virus from running. It may be helpful if you could tell us the specification of your PC (processor, memory, graphics card, etc.) and whether it's a desktop or laptop.

Cheers,
Ged

i've just had this. I uninstalled it and the add on packs, deleted the Train Simulator folder from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\ folder then reinstalled.

It worked after that but only after deleting the train simulator folder.
