Once again I find myself running round in circles trying to do something others find dead easy!
I am trying to make a Mini Route out of SGLM, but can only get so far before I get error messages.
Is there a tutorial, preferably with illustrations, for this process?

Re: Making a Mini Route
I am a failed pupil.
Having followe all the steps of the tutorial I have finished with a mini route folder "Train Simulator" which contains Routes and Trains only. All the other essential files are missing.
Another strange thing; when copying over the stock files, the DOS window frequently stopped for me to enter an answer to "Yes/No/All" I entered "All" to keep it running but I do not know whether this was the right thing to do.
I believe the problem lies with the creation of the folder for the new mini route. There is no guidance as to what form this folder should take. In the case of the BC1 miniroute it contains a complete Train Simulator content.

Re: Making a Mini Route
Mike,
The problem is not solved. Having meticulously followed steps 1 to 14 in the link you gave, I get a message that
“The selected folder does not contain “train.exe” so can not be a main MSTS folder”
What is missing is how to construct a mini route folder which meets the requirements; the program itself does not appear to do so.

Re: Making a Mini Route
Now I haven't got everything to hand but I have been setting up a series of mini routes myself for use with Mini Loader - see my post in the General Discussions area -, and I found that the Mike Simpson/Yuri Sos tutorial is the one to follow.

However you need to follow it meticulously - in particular Items 10a and 10b, and make sure that when using Train Store everything is unstored.
One problem that I encountered early on is that after setting up the Mini Route and selecting the MSTS Path to allow the <Mini-Route get Stock> and <Mini-Route Compact Tracks> actions the MSTS Path stays set to the Mini Route selection. Therefore when using Route Riter for "normal" operations it is necessary to reset the MSTS Path to the main Train Simulator location. (Same manner as within the Mini Route routines).
It also pays to run the various FIX actions from the second TAB, as the <Mini-Route get Stock> routine does not always pick up every items of stock called for in the Mini Route Trainset stock. For example, some items require <Common.Blackpool> or the MT Common folders.
