Hi Folks.
Having recently recieved the Making Tracks Great Eastern Route i have noticed that there Class 47's sound files are differant to those that i have in the Class 47's that i already have which is this file
"..\\..\\common.sound\\Class_47\\Class47eng.sms"
What i was wondering is this.
1.Is it possible to change the sound file from that above to the Making Tracks Class 47 as supplied in there Great Eastern Route?
2.Can you if it is possible change it in the usual way by opening up the file to wordpad etc.
I did'nt want to go ahead and just try it incase it stared throwing up error messages.As ever any help is most greatfully recieved.
Regards ~ Thomas Telford.

Yes you can change it to the great Eastern 47 sounds and Cabs with it being a Common file .
I would like to help you out more but i`m at work at the moment and i haven`t got the full info in front of me
if no one else answers i will give you the full details on how to do it Tomorrow.
the easiest way is open up the loco you want to change and open a 47 from the Great eastern 47 and just Copy the Eng and cab sound files and paste them on to the 47 you want to change deleting the orginal files first.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Again
Find the engine file you want to change open it withWordpad or what ever the editor you use ( I use Context)
scroll down usually beneath the lights about half way
and change it
Light (
comment( Rear right red light )
Type ( 0 )
Conditions (
Headlight ( 3 )
Unit ( 3 )
)
FadeIn ( 0.5 )
FadeOut ( 0.5 )
Cycle ( 0 )
States ( 1
State (
Duration ( 0.0 )
LightColour ( aaff0000 )
Position ( -0.92 1.93 -9.24 )
Azimuth ( -180 -180 -180 )
Transition ( 0 )
Radius ( 0.3 )
)
)
)
)
Sound ( "..//..//MT_Common.Sound//MT_Class47//Class47Eng01.sms" )THIS
)
Engine ( MT_Class47_47577
Effects
(
DieselSpecialEffects
(
and scroll down further downto the cab sounds and change that to the sounds you want.
But if you are unsure back up the orginal file first before you change it just in case you get it wrong and you can revert back to that

Hi Thomas,
To change the file allocation you should be able to right click on the .eng file and select "open file with", select wordpad from the list, under that will be the option to"always use this program"
That will make sure they always open in wordpad, just remember to do the same with the .wag files.
When it comes to changing the sounds, just follow stephen rhodes instructions you should have no problems then on!
Cheers Alistair
