Hi Peter,
Please do not take offence at this, but if you are not sure about the workings of simple file movement.
May be you should not consider delving to deep and get a basic understanding of windows first..

If you are using XP.
To make a copy of a folder or a file. You do something called Copy/Paste. (This is not the only way)
Make a folder on the Desk Top and name it 'Temp Copies' (or whatever you will remember easily)
Open the Folder that has the Folder or File you want to copy. Make the window smaller so you can see your New Folder on the Desk Top
Hover the mouse over the Folder or File you want to copy and right click.
In the box that opens see the option 'Copy' left click on it.
Move the mouse over your New Folder and right click on it.
In the box that opens see the option 'Paste' left click on it.
The item you copied is now in your New Folder, open it as usual to see.

That is your backup anything you do to the original can be reversed by Copy/Pasting the backup to where it came from.
When you are sure the changes work you can delete the backups or Preferably keep them in case you want to go back at any time.

It is much esaier to do than explain believe me.
Don't charge in be sure first.

I've read through this but then I know how to do it. If any part is not clear, ask.
Good luck
Doug
