Hi Folks.
Recently tried to have a go a making my own activity which i thought was going well.Using train store i uninstalled some routes so as i could use the stock used on those routes and then I set out my route then placed some stock along the route etc etc (No A1 traffic at this point) but i got a message stating that not all the stock was uninstalled and this could damage my Trainsim (Hope i have got that right) Anyway now when i try to load any activity either free roam or a set activity in any route the Trainsim get so far loading then crasses to desktop.
I have tried uninstalling everything and installing it again by using the 'Tools' tab at the top of the Trainstore but still no luck.
Any ideas??
Many thanks ~ Thomas Telford.

When something like this happens its usually a good idea to use a process of elimination to try and find out whats gone wrong. Start by reinstalling the latest tsection.dat file, then unstoring everything in trainstore, and then storing everything again except the default msts routes. Now try a few activities to see if they load and start ok. (You neednt run them for more than a minute or so). If that works then try a couple of activities for the route you were creating your activity for, but not your activity, and see if they start and run ok. It may just be that something in your activity has gone wonky and this should help you eliminate the cause.
If you find you cant run the default activities then, alas it looks like youve broken something. Come back in that event and see if anyone else has any suggestions.

Hi There Lad491.
Thanks for your help.I had forgotten something that i had done.I was having problem with not being able to see where the consists had been placed when i was trying to make my own activity so i done a serch and found a download which i downloaded and that seems like it had something to do with it as after i had turned my computer off and on again bingo it all worked.

Well it worked for a little while as now another problem has come up.
When i go into activity editor i choose my route, consist, fill out the boxes etc i get to the point where i choose my start point but then it won't allow me to change the direction of the points. The only things highlighted in the are the following :-
'Place end point' 'Place reverse point' 'Place waiting point' 'Remove start point' and 'Toggle start direction' all the others in the box are'nt highlighted.
Any one with ideas?
Kindest Regards Thomas Telford.

Does toggle start direction work? Thats what you use to shift the direction of travel to the other direction
Make sure you have the little nodes showing green. Some directions arent possible in some places in msts.

Hi Lad491.
First let me say thanks for your help that you have kindly given me so far.To Answer your question about can i toggle the start direction.Yes i can place the start point and it'll let me toggle the start direction but still no luck on it letting me change any points. These are forward facing points leading into a platform loop and i have used these points when in free roam so i know that they can be changed When i put the little circle over the track plan in activity editor the only things it'll let me do are the following......
'Place end point'
'Place reverse point'
'Place waiting point'
'Remove start point' and
'Toggle start direction'
All the others in the box are'nt in the deep black.(They remain in faded black)I have followed the instuctions in the tutorials closely so i hav'nt a clue what has gone wrong or i have done wrong.
Kindest reagrds ~Thomas Telford.

Just a thought which ive added ahead of my post below as i just thought of it

could the start point be too close to the points in question? Try dragging the start point further away from the points and try it again.
If you feel confident you could try deleting the HWRenderer registry keys (starting with AE) which control the activityeditor, just in case something somewhere has corrupted your registry settings. Im not confident this will work but it might be worth a long shot. If you do a forum search for HWRenderer you should find threads which explain what to do, but if you arent 100% sure, come back and ask again, as if you do it incorrectly you can cause major damage to your msts installation. As always make sure you have backed up your msts setup and trainstore before attempting anything like this.

Or you could try using Otto Wipfel Registry Repairer:
