Nice to see so many new objects!

Whether it's a simple house, a small bush, a station, a phone box, a sheep or any other piece of scenery here's where you can talk with others building them. Scenery is often also a great place for beginners to start out their 3D modelling hobby before moving on to more complex items such as Locomotives.

Looks a bit village of the damned...
:)
Or Bishop Auckland in the 70's!

There is some really good atmosphere in those shots.

Thanks for your comments, although some are difficult to translate for me..
What is beeching?

Yes the missing track is a idea of my own. This route will be a small monument for al the local railways in Germany. So many where closed after the union between east and west, and after the privatisation. Many of those lines are being demolished at this moment, because I think of the high prices paid for the iron. The fictional route I am builing has been retained for local transport, but i't is simplified. So the stationbuiling is closed..the second track has been lifted. This is railway romance for me.

The lifted track is a lofted object using the trackbed of my tracks. I changed also the tracks. The sleepers are now using a shadowtexture for a better nightview.

That's it for now..but I will keep up the work, because it's is fun to do. (creating above playing!)

Hi Sad

Mr Beeching was the person in the UK Government in the 60's who was in charge of the mass demolition of the UK railway system resulting in the closure of many branch lines and the streamlining of the system in general. Fortunately, many local groups were formed who bought up and restored quite a few lines which thrive today as preserved railways.

To be fair, the branch lines in particular were not being used a lot due to the widespread use of cars but there was a lack of forethought for a possible future need and perhaps today those lines would have been put to good use had they survived.

Bishops Auckland and The Village of the Damned we will leave to another time!

Your English is fine and I think we all understand your points perfectly well.

Yes, as a procedural loft.

2 hours of spare time...a new tunnel for one or two tracks.

I thought my eyes were deceiving me. Point and signal rodding used to be a major feature of all railways.

I really do like those tunnels with the circular mouth. Very similar to the tunnels that used to be in my area before the railways were destroyed, the tracks lifted and the tunnels filled-in with waste from closed collieries. The big difference was that my local tunnels were made of red brick and there was also a three-track tunnel (very rare I believe).

How can you produce such high quality work in only two hours?
Have you ever considered going into business with RSDerek?

After making more and more objects without making to big steps I have some 'smoothing' in making this kind of objects. But it could also be 3 hours...time's flying when having fun! Nowadays, I make my texture image in advantage, so I know what detail I can make in my model. That does making the model more fun because the bad and boring work is already done!
