08 Shunter cab

Rail Simulator brings full and high detail 3D cabs to Train Simulation (though by no means the first to do so). Instead of using 2D images you can now create detailed 3D cabs with fully animated controls, here's the place to learn how.

Hi all, sorry I have not got back to you on this, I have been working on it in the background for the past couple of weeks, but intent to do the big push over the next week or so.
Here is an image with the cab coloured (basic) and shadow baked.
The dials and controls are now all working nicely.
I'm not starting to work on the details, bolts/rivots/hooks etc (and there are hundreds!) weathing and misc detail.

I hope to show you a much more finished can in a couple of days.

best regards

Derek

That looks brilliant Derek. It looks just the way I remember it. You've managed to get just the right amount of grime without making it look overdone. I cant wait for this to be made available.
Cheers,
Stewart.

Out of interest Derek how much modelling time did the cab take compared to the loco?

Hi,

I would say slighty more.
The reason being that it is a far more complicated shape.
And getting the detail/measurements right took a little bit of time.

However I think the 03 shunter cab will take far less as I learnt a fair bit along the way.
But I'll let you know.

cheers

Since this has been bumped I just wanted to say that this looks fantastic Derek, I've only been in one gronk before but it certainly looks spot on in my eyes.
