Wow.. thanks for the report Klaus!
I was a bit worried about not having certain types of crossings but it seems they are possible now. The route looks quite good to me.
If Kuju is releasing a demo 3 months before the real thing does that mean we will have something substantial to download come June?
It seems one of the major hold ups is the US routes if they have yet to start work on those...

Thank you Klaus for your post. KRS is still very much a WIP , so some criticisms may yet be resolved.KlausM wrote:Hi,
here is my report from the Intermodellbau 2007:
...... Snipped
The screen resolution was, by the way, 1280x1024.

I Hope that 16x10/16x9 widescreen support is not forgotten .

There is no question that the quality of the images are far better than of Trainz or MSTS. Don't give anything on the colors in my photos. To a certain degree, it does look cartoonish, however, this is the nature of computer generated images.
Regarding the resolution: The images of the other visitor(s) show KRS running in window mode (opposed to full screen mode). In this mode, the software needs to be able adapt to the window size the user chose. As a consequence, it is not unlikely that the software is able to support arbitrary full screen resolutions (including 16x9/16x10 aspect ratios).

Thanks keber ... Yes have seen this " forgotten " in other titles and always question when it not seen in shows where widescreen is most effective in promotionkeber wrote:I've seen a photo of a running KRS (probably "Leipzig version") on a wide screen (sorry, can't find it now), so I think it's not forgotten (like in some other EA titles).MaxFreak wrote: I Hope that 16x10/16x9 widescreen support is not forgotten .
@ Tazman .. Hi
Do you find this too much ?? , Me I wonder , but .. It's difficult to correctly judge what will be eventually be seen when viewing from photos taken of monitor . Best remembered is that much control of material properties is possible when applying textures to mesh in 3D programes to best match the game engine . And each modeler has different ideas of what look good and naturalOn the last screenshot where you see the DB 101 from the side there seems to be alot of glare from the body work.

Yes, I recollect those videos, but on that wide aspect screen the aspect ratio setting was wrong, thus the picture was 'squashed' which is (extremely) annoying and awful to look at. (Not a criticism of the videos, just of the demo screen in the video clips.)I've seen a photo of a running KRS (probably "Leipzig version") on a wide screen (sorry, can't find it now), so I think it's not forgotten
Kuju, it's time to release some in-game video clips, please.
Cheers Bazza
Actually, photo is on KRS web site:

It doesn't look squashed to me.

The Liepzig videos show the Black Five looking 'squashed', which means the monitor's aspect ratio setup was not suited to the sim. The result looks like someone's big foot has squashed the loco, etc. Other video clips have clearly shown the same thing. I have seen one video, maybe not a widescreen monitor, where the aspect ratio setting was correct, no squashed look.
