Activities & Routes - Lessons from Rail3d

Activities & Routes - Lessons from Rail3d

Post by bhyde »

Dont know if many people have tried route / activity building with Rail3d2k but the prototypical way it handles train routing and signalling IMHO is a real advance on MSTS, it would be great if KRS included some of these features.

In Rail3d, routing is based upon the train route number, a great number of variables can be applied to objects ie signals, points etc along the route which alter the way they interact with the trains (as in real life).

Although this can be a steep learning curve for the activity / route creator, I find this system way more flexible than MSTS, although Rail3d is more network / signaller oriented, I think this would also apply well to a driver oriented sim.
