Brighton Model World

The Rail Simulator forum was very busy leading up to the UK release on October 12th 2007, this is a read-only copy of those discussions for historic and review purposes.

Brighton Model World

Post by KujuSabrina »

Hey all,

Just to let you know, Richard Rogerson, Adam Lucas and I will be attending the Brighton Model World this Saturday. We will be hovering around the UKTrainSimLive! stand, just near the front entrance talking to those who have yet to hear about Rail Simulator and who might not otherwise know about train simming. Whilst we will be more than happy to speak with all of you - please don't expect to hear anything new about Rail Simulator as (if you follow the forums and web site!) you all are already up to speed with the latest developments! As I say this is about getting the Rail Simulator message out to those that have never even heard of us so we'll be repeating what is already on the website and forums.

I will have my camera however, so if any of you do show up - I'll be taking some pics :D

We will no doubt get a report of the day on the website after the show.

Hope to see you all there!
Sabrina

Looking forward to it! Are you hanging around for the traditional evening meal later?

(which is -also traditionally- where the really interesting talking gets done) :)

I hope everyone will be wearing their best anoraks...........
Sabrina, please don't publish the pictures afterwards......It'll set back the train simmers press, by 10 years.
Cheers

It was great to meet Richard, Sabrina and Adam. Richard did a really excellent job of selling MSTS and the ukts website and cd's. :) I think he did manage to get a plug or two in about another simulator due soon though ;) I had a good chat with Sabrina about activities (scenarios) and also met Adam Lucas with whom i have chatted and corresponded much on his Channel Tunnel route, but never met in person.

Always great to put names to faces and i hope we get a chance to meet again in the future.

I'll second Laurie's comments....

It was nice to meet Richard, Sabrina and Adam. They did indeed do a superb job with helping spread the word about train simulation...and they did truly devote more than 50% of their time plugging MSTS! It gave the rest of us chance to sneak off and relax.....only kidding!

Again to add my thanks to those for the immense support from the Kuju team - a supreme effort from everyone!

Thanks again!

Well what a great day we had on saturday! We finally got to meet some of you and what a nice bunch you are! Richard and I spent most of our time speaking with anyone and everyone that approached the UKtraimsim stand - and Adam dispersed flyers around every nook and cranny he could find at the conference centre :)

We'll get some pics up on the website soon, but sadly the only one that wore anything vaguely anorak was me.....

Oh and who organised placing the UKtrainsim stand right next to the Dalek stand?!

I hope that sales of that do not go up too much, else MS might revert to the 30-something price and stop the current special sales. ;-)

Besides such hypotheses, it is very nice to hear such news, as one of our major hopes is that the new sims will break new ground, also in terms of attracting new users who are not aware of train simulation yet.

And so if a Dalek comes up to Sabrina and says "HELLO HUMANOID. WILL YOU HAVE WORKING TURNTABLES IN YOUR NEW TRAIN SIM-U-LATOR?" she won't be at all suspicious?
