Class 42xx 2-8-0T

Need some help understanding the blueprints for making your own engines, coaches and wagons? Here's a good place to start.

Class 42xx 2-8-0T

Post by Ferrisybuga »

Just some quick renders of my second loco in progress - currently just under the 7,000 poly mark. The wheel spokes are too thin and will be changed and perhaps the whole wheel made more round depending on the near-end poly count.

Plus the boiler is level in the last image but looks odd due to the angle the shot was taken from - can anyone suggest a better more subtle background render environment to use with some nice lighting effects for some smudge shaddows? They just look a bit too bland. :(

With the cab structure nearly sorted it looks like this: (11,742 Polys)

Time for details, driving rods and domes.

Now refined at about (10,700) polys.

Could anyone help with the rear cab windows - what shape are they - i'm struggling to find a decent image of the rear of the locomotive.

That is bloody brilliant - exactly what I need - I only had the scale drawings of the side and front end, this is amazingly helpful thankyou very much. There are a few differences to the model that I have already done but now I can refine it. Thanks Neptune!

Very nice, can I just point out as a constructive point that the rear lamp shouldn't hang from it's handle, it should be flat on the back.

Looks very good though.

Cor - looks lovely :D

I can just see that in KRS clanking along with a load of full coal wagons. Filthy BR black perhaps.
