Is there any way to do this.
Some general objects, like the large stations that come with platforms
seem very difficult to line up with the track, just by using the Gizmo.
Is there any way to make a general object behave like a linear object so you
can place it using the offset tool.
Thanks
Placing general objects parallel to track.

Re: Placing general objects parallel to track.
I don't know of another way, but I use the key commands, and they appear to work fine.
The problem with the offset tool controlling a standard object would be when an non-linear object, say a station, is built at a 90-angle to the track. Some of these objects are built differently, and is mainly due to what the author feels like it. The above would be fine if there was a function to snap-rotate objects on their axis 90-deg, similar to how the MSTS RE works (grid box checked).

Re: Placing general objects parallel to track.
Hi guys
there is possibly a way of making objects such as stations snap to track. if you want to get your hands dirty
If you made a simple loft and made it totally transparent
Set the frequency very large say 1000
Use any your chosen station as "middle Geometry"
No end geometry.
fine tune the amount of default offset.
Stations would then be chosen by using the track laying menu
Highlight your chosen station centre on the track with the pick tool
Click offset
Click the arrow
Sorry not got time to actually try this but it should work
