Hmmm, what happened here?

Post by tango4262 »

Just been constructing a junction which is located on a curve, and this happened;

:-?

I ran an 08 Shunter and Four wagons across it without any flaws, it seems to be purely a visual problem, but this part of the route is one of the more scenic places so i would like it to look presentable :)

Any ideas on this problem are most welcome.

Yes, they were complaining about their lack of direct access from the mainline.

I recall some default routes had missing rails in some areas but was addressed by Mk1 upgrade.

I remember getting this type of thing when I tried to modify the track layout on a copy of the standard Bath-Templecombe route. I was attempting to fit a junction into, or between, mainline and yard spec tack with different speed settings.

Strangely, I could still run a train along the line. I gave up.

I've only had this happen when trying to create crossings with single or double slips (I only use Bath Templecombe Down type of track). I tried to have a crossover from track 1 to track 4 with a single slip point on tracks 2 and 3. The rails went all over the place. They didn't go missing altogether but were going out at wrong angles, even 90 degrees to the direction of track.
Sometimes a crossing with a single slip will be all there in the correct positions, but the point blades will not be sharp, but blunted. The trains always go over them okay though!

This has happened to me where the two tracks making up the junction are at two diferent levels, or one is on a gradient and the other flat or on a different gradient. I found it could be resolved by relaying the track ensuring that both are at the same height and are following the same gradient, if any, through the junction.

Certainly is :wink: :)

Thanks

I'll start adding scenery in that area tomorrow to meet the already near completed scenery south of Horsted Keynes :)

Not had that, but I did have part of a section of track vanish after laying. No matter what I did, I couldn't get track to display properly forward from that point. The red rectangles were present where the end should have been, just no track! In the end I had to lay it in reverse and connect into the main line when it showed up, sort of. Route subsequently abandoned for other reasons. Not sure whether the two bugs are related.

Reminded me of what happened in MSTS when the tdb corrupted.
