it looks great, the only problem im having now is, after kildare (around miles post 34) i get a "dont send error" always in the same place and it exits the game.
I tried it a couple of times and it does it all the time. any idea how to fix this problem? no chance of checking out the whole version 1 if that will happen :(
i also tried to "fly" through this place in the editor... same thing happens

Has anyone else who downloaded the route had this problem? I cannot think of any particular reason why it should happen at this location. I will check the area around milepost 34 on my own route this evening and see if there is anything obvious there that causes the problem. Try making a short scenario (just a loco) commencing in Portlaoise and see what happens if you are travelling in the opposite direction.

Does the crash happen before or after Cherryville Junction when travelling from Dublin? (There is a marker at Cherryville Junction; can you 'fly' there by clicking on the marker?). I can only think that something connected with the junction causes the problem, though it works fine for me. You mentioned that it also crashed when heading to Dublin from Portlaoise. Is the location of the crash after Monasterevin? Also, if you drive from Portarlington towards Cork, do you get the error message somewhere after Portarlington?

Finally, if either of you have RS-tools, can you check the route in that programme and see what files are missing. You should get a message that four files are missing. If it is more than that, perhaps I missed something in creating the assets package.

It happens after the Junction. I would say about 33.5 miles from dublin. I only managed to get to monastervin once. Then shortly after it it crashed. Well i never drived from portalington, never got a chance to do that only saw a bit of portalington station then it suddenly crashed.
Also a friend reccomended a little file called LogMate which checks whats going on in the game. Strangely when i turn it on and try to load Dublin - Cork it never loads. i can wait for 20 minutes and the loading screen is still there (doesnt happen on other routes)
and about checking for missing files. i have this 'RS Tools The Missing Bits" (is this the right one??) if yes how do i check if there are any files missing?

You probably have an early version of RS-Tools. You can download the most recent version from MIke Simpson's site at http://www.rstools.info/index.html. You will see in the up-dated version that there is an option to check routes and scenarios. When checked, the program will tell you if there are problems with the route and what files are missing.

A question to a moderator. Doea a moderator check a route that is uploaded to see if it works properly before it is made availabe for downloading? If not, perhaps someone would check if the problem mentioned in the posts above occurs.

Hi

I am not sure if you are still having problems but I found that missing track linked assets often caused crashes at certain places. Anything that has been placed as a track linked item, such as a signal or a buffer perhaps, but is not there will cause a crash. One way to test this is to move into the problem area in the 2D map and if the program crashes whilst only looking at the 2D map then this is probably the cause.

This might help

Hi,
I am getting this list as well. It's produced by RS_Tools_Pro. It does not effect the running of the route as yet.
I will have to check out the problem reported above, crashing, to see if I am getting the same.

There are quite a few other items missing for example;-
\bush_hawthorn_mid_04.bin
\bush_hawthorn_mid_06.bin
\tree_fieldmaple_02_mid.bin
\tree_fieldmaple_03_mid.bin

Don't know where these are looked every where as these where reported to be missing by RS_Tools_Pro. I do have the foliage pack.

Hi,

Just run this scenario and it crashed for me to outside of Kildare.
I hope this is of help, I ran the scenario whilst in edit mode and it locked up at just out side Kildare and I had to use task manager to get out of RailSimulator.

I have to say that I do not understand why you are getting that list of missing assets. I presume that you have downloaded and installed file no. 18687 (the no-buffer track). This should have installed in the folder ...assets\letsRole\RailNetwork\buffers\..names of files... I don't know why RS-tools is looking for them in the Kuju folder. I just checked my own Kuju folder and there are no '-no_buffer' files there, but when I run RS-tools, I do not get the missing assets list you get. Just to be absolutely sure, I printed out the full list of assets used in the route - it runs to 8 pages of minuscule typing and none of the items that are listed as missing in your message appear on the list. Another strange aspect about that missing assets list is that they are described as GeoPcDx files which are shape files , not texture files. However, I do not think this can be the casue of your problem. The only locations where I used the 'no-buffer' track is at Heuston Station, Newbridge and Portarliington, so if you have a problem with missing 'no-buffer' track, you should have experienced it when you open any scenario as they all commence at Heuston.

I just drove the HST through the area where you are getting the crashes, first at the highest possible speed and then at a crawl to see if I could identify any problem there. So far as I can see there is nothing unusual about that location - its double track with no signals or other track infrastructure. But one thing I did notice is that there is a significant 'stutter' in that area as the programme loads the upcoming tiles and vegetation. This is fairly dense in that area (it includes a large forest) and in my case, frames per second dropped from between 50 and 60fps when travelling at high speed to 9fps (for just a fraction of a second) at about the 33.5 miles point. When I travel at a very low speed (5mph), my normal frames per second is between 100 and 120 fps , but drops to 18-20 fps at the same point. I wonder, therefore, if it is a memory problem. I use a fairly high-spec computer with a Nvidia graphics card. I remember in MSTS days, I used to experience a similar problem in my old computer with the Dorset Coast route which would seize up when it could not cope with the density of assets in particular areas. I used to drive very slowly through these areas - otherwise I would get the 'send to bill' message.

Am I correct, Overmarz, in understanding that you have been able to successfully drive the full route?
