First attempt at 3rd and 4th rail.

Post by class43HS125 »

HI,
I am experimenting with the lofting idea to make conductor rails. Obviously the first attempt has some problems.
I think the insulators are supposed to be below the rail :D . the light grey is supposed to be on top of the rail as the electrical carbon arc colour and the darker colour is supposed to be the rail sides and foot. oh well back to the drawing board.
LOL looks like i had better figure out how to add an image.

hi,
The second attempt has got the ramps at the ends around the right way, but the conductor rail has disappeared leaving just a line of insulators. Question, in the procedural loft blue print there is an option for a Middle geometary BPID, the population frequency then controls how often this appears. Can this be set to anything other than whole meters? It dosen't seem to be very acurate as I tried to set it to 2.25 meters and the insulators are spaced at 2.39 according to the game measuring tape. My attemp at posting images is not progressing either. my web site is refusing uploads :(

Ross, I'm not sure how many of the 3D Modelling guys visit this Route building section. The questions you are asking are more suited to the 3D modelling forums, though what you are doing should be of great interest to some route builders.

I'm sure you've already seen this:

Doesn't help with the modelling problem, but might give you some data you don't already have.

Regards,

Mike
