Hi Robert,
Thanks for your comments and looking forward to version2.1.
Re the changing the points problem that Robert and I mentioned, I regret that I couldn't find any way at all to change them. At Alber Town station, G and Shift-G change the one the other side of the point in question. Neither the 9 nor the F3 screens show them as a point so there's no little blue cicrle to click on.
In fact when running the "first train of the day" scenario, once the stock has been brought up from the carriage siding into the station and the loco run round, the loco derails when it tries to cross that point.
It's as if the track isn't recognised as being a point on my copy.
Here's hoping the problem's solved on version 2.1 - it's a superb line and you are to be congratulated on your work.
Regards,
Steve Dymott

the problem is that the points in question are automatic and behave differently to all the other points which are manual. these 2 kinds of points are fundementally different in how they work.
Manual are friendly things which spring over when u run over them and have a handy dandy leaver. however they are always set the same way no matter what the activity so unless you know the route well enough to know when to switch them can take you in entirely the wrong direction or force you into a head on collision you didn't see coming.
auto points however do change direction according to the path destinations set in an activity and are therefore a necessary evil. the problem is that if they have been given a direction to face they cannot have there direction be changed. (hopefully RS will fix these problems but I wont hold my breath)
I am therefore remaking "1st run of the day" so that no destination is set and the points wont be locked off.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER ACTIVITIES WHICH NEED FIXING?
it is as I described, necessary for 4 key sets of points in the EALR to be auto and all the rest can be of the friendly manual variety.
if you don't like them being auto and wish to change them to manual
1] go into edit mode
2]use the splitting tool on the base of the points. (the bottom of the Y) the splitting tool is found under the track section in the top left window. it is a yellow and white button with arrows facing away from one another.
3]make sure the leaver button is checked in the bottom left window and weld the track back together. the weld button is a sort of bicycle wheel shape only without the round bits. also found in the track section. once the weld button is selected you need to click on the floaty grey box above where you split the track.

Hi Robert,
A useful explanation and thanks, you've expanded my rather basic Rail Sim knowledge a lot with it.
I'm sure I and others will take up your query re any other problem activities.

Hi Robert,
You asked us to let you know if there are any other problem scenarios.
Just had a problem with "sheep run" at Leonards Lee station where the train leaves its path at the entrance to the station and then derails on the points at the exit of the station.

I just drove the activity and yes it does de rail. I will fix it soon even if I have to re make the activity.
when I installed the route on my dads pc I found that on the U-bend after the hill the track went straight threw the middle of a rather large bush.
I haven't been able to check weather this was a result of some of the funky stuff the computer was doing at the time or not, but if it is a fault it would seem likely that a V2.3 is in order

oh well, I'm not going to rush to release it, instead I will wait till all the errors have been found.
if V2.3 is a necessity as it would seem 2 be, is there anything anyone would like added / changed / improved / fixed ?

Hi Robert,
Re "anything added for V2.3", would you consider the creation of loco coaling / watering facilities at Dixons Green Dockyard station?

Robert - want to test out some narrow gauge inspired water towers?

just a hopeful thought, but if anyone else has any narrow gauge stuff there making and think that it would look good on the EALR please do get in touch. especially if you are making the following.
NG coaling point
NG bridges (standard gauge bridges are way too wide)
NG tunnel track (i had to build the tunnel out of 2 tunnel sections. one for the floor and one for the roof... as a result it rains in the tunnel)
NG sheep wagons (every possible finger crossed)

I'm working on some sheep wagons - coincidentally. After driving your route, I had forseen the need.
They are freelance wagons of the same general configuration as Kev's 2'3 stock.
