Next Destination in Driver Aid Window

Post by ka959 »

Hi there...

Can someone who knows how to, please inform me as to how you get the next destination (station) to show up in the Drivers' Aid window ? And any other info related to passenger trains stopping at marked stations ? Thanks.

Regards...

Hi Jim,

You haven't given much information on what you are exactly doing.

Are you trying to do this in Free Roam, if so the next Destination information is unavailable in the Drivers Aid window when using Free Roam.

If in Standard Scenario, then the information given for each Stop board used on the Player locomotive will be displayed in the Drivers Aid shown in logged order.

Hope this helps, if not come back.

Thanks for the reply, mate. But it still keeps that constant question mark hanging over my head regarding that info. Exactly what do you mean by "Each stop board used on the player locomotive" ?? And in answer to your query - I'm afraid I was using it in Free Roam. It's my own route, and with at least two or three clearly-marked stations that allow me to press the "T" key once the passenger train stops, and see the doors open, and passengers entering and leaving the cars.

I thought if this was the case, it was setup enough to let next destinations show on the Driver's Aid window, as long as stations were present, and named correctly, but nope. I can find the scenarios listed when I click the orange scenario icon on the flyour window, but as far as I'm concerned, when you start a new route, it shows a Free Roam marker by default. If I place a Standard Scenario Marker next to the Free Roam Marker, and try to delete the Free Roam Marker, it refuses to delete. Can you possibly give me a step-by-step brief tutorial on how to start something where you can travel through any number of passenger stations to a final destination, seeing each subsequent station name showing up as you approach it ? Any help here is welcome, as I feel really helpful documentation is as rare as hen's teeth on this subject (typically !)

Regards...

Hi Jim,

Have you placed any Station Markers (shown as Green Track on 2D map) on your Route, without these you cannot create a Scenario to stop at the Stations.

I assume you have Upgrade 1, downloaded the Developers Tools and the Developers Documents.

I believe that you cannot delete the Free Roam Marker, you place a new Scenario marker anywhere on the Route (The Start point for the Scenario will be wherever you place the Player locomotive so the marker position is not critical) and this produces a new Scenario for you, leaving the original as the default Free Roam.

Rather than me give probably a poor description on how to make a Standard Scenario I suggest you read:

6.01 Creating a Simple Scenario.pdf
6.02 How to Setup a Driver.pdf
6.03 How to Create a Stop At Instruction.pdf
6.04 How to Create a Pick Up Passengers Instruction.pdf

All these are found in the Devs Doc folder.

Just as a matter of interest where do you reside, I ask as you seem to post in the early hours UK time?
