I've been messing around with route creation of RS for a little while, and have been over the video tutiorials, but untill narrow gauge track came along I wasnt that interested in creating a full sized route... However now that there is I am very interested, however I find that my first hurdle to overcome is that I cant get any custom content to display on my route... including track and trains.
I have a few questions
1) How do I get custom content to be usable in my route?
2) is there an idiots guide to route / train building anywhere? (not that I'm an idiot)
cant use custom content???

Re: cant use custom content???
1. You need to enable the content via the filter. Left hand boxes of the editor, middle box, below the blue box in the corner is a small blue box with an orange triangle in it. Click this and the filter will pop out on the right. Here you can select the content provider in the drop down and then tick the box to add it. Be aware that once added to a route or scenario, you can't remove that dependence. So only add what you're going to need.. I have a "test area" that I just throw stuff into for checking it out, then I only add the providers I need on my proper route build.
2. The developer documents that come with the Editor download from RS are a good starting point, couple those with these vids: http://railsimulator.blip.tv and you can start to figure it all out pretty well. After that a search on this forum will yield most answers to specific problems I find. After that, ask
