Where exactly did you click on the right?

Maybe you have not selected the corresponding addon: On the centre left flyout, click on the blue cube and then on the smaller look-alike below it. Then on the right flyout, find your developer name (whatever you chose when creating the blueprint) and then the addon name (product name, again as chosen in the blueprint). These need to match with the folder structure, but since you say you put them in the right place, you seem to know where.

Other than that, I would guess that the markers are not associated with the route in some way. E.g., the coordinates of the route blueprint (or the route position where you look at) do not match the marker positions. Or you forgot to swap column A and B as described in PDF file 1.03.

As I said before, it is much easier to help you when you give details of what you actually did.
Also, people in the route building forum will have more experience with what you did than here.

Did you get any error messages in the bottom box when you exported the blueprint and csv from the Asset Editor?

Ok, you used Mike's excellent tools to make a blueprint, and you have your csv file, which you named in the blueprint creator.

You then need to put these into your very own developers directory:
C:\Program Files\Rail Simulator\Source\<yournamehere>\,<yourroutenamehere>\RouteMarkers

Obviously you replace the tags above with your own name you want for developing, and the name of the route you are creating.
Once you've done this, start up the Asset Editor, and you will see the above file structure. Click till you get to your blueprint xml file (flag.xml I think you've said you've called it?). Double click on this to load it and the data will load into the editor. Now click on the "Export" button at the top right. This will turn your plain xml and csv files into the right files for RS, and will put them here for you:

C:\Program Files\Rail Simulator\Assets\<yournamehere>\,<yourroutenamehere>\RouteMarkers (it will automatically create these folders based on the ones you created above)
5 files will be created, something like: Flag.bin, Flag.bin.tgt, Bristol To Didcot.dcsv, Bristol To Didcot.dcsv.tgt, Flag.xml (they will be similar to these)

These files can now be read by RS. Close the Asset Editor (you have to do this to start RS), and start RS. Select your route, go into edit mode and click the filter box on the left (blue box). The panel on the right will pop out and in the drop down you can now select your chosen name from above and tick the box. This will enable your own content (in this case your markers) for this route.
Now when you activate the markers (one of the circle buttons on the middle left panel) your markers and/or paths will appear.

Edit: Hmm, I may have misread your set up balloonist 2009, if you did create a blueprint called Flag.xml for your markers, use another name. In fact for ease I would always name my xml blueprint, my csv and the name of the the markers the same thing :) ie PortsmouthMarkers.xml, PortsmouthMarkers.csv, Display Name, English (and French, Italian, German, Spanish!) PortsmouthMarkers

In the asset editor this is what i have typed in:
Display name
English

Blueprint Set Id
Provider Kuju
Product Railsimulator

Blueprint ID Routemarkers\flag.xml

Named GPS Markers file
CSV File Routemarkers\blackpool.csv

Also at the bottom it says
Selected C:\program files\rail simualtor\source\richard\lancs\routemarkers\blackpool.xml
Child blueprint from xternal set - not included in build: kuju\railsimulator\routemarkers\flag.xml
Updating

Is there anything i have done wrong for the markers not to show in rail simulator?
Richard

Hmm, comparing that to mine it seems to be ok. Not sure if RS is case fussy, if so make sure you have "RouteMarkers" for your folder names etc, also I'm guessing you did give it a name and just left it out of the details above? If not make sure you name it (I would copy it into all 4 languages to be on the safe side!). Now hit the export button and check that in your C:\Program Files\Rail Simulator\Assets\richard\lancs folder you have the following files (assuming you use the name blackpool in the 4 language boxes):
blackpool.bin, blackpool.bin.tgt, blackpool.dcsv, blackpool.dcsv.tgt, blackpool.xml

Now when you load RS and click the filter the right hand pop out drop down should have "richard" in it? When you tick this, and then enable the markers with the round button on the left middle panel, you should get your markers?

PM sent Richardo, I'll take a look at the files if you like, see if we can get to the bottom of this!

Ok, cracked it!

You can have 2 types of markers in RS, named markers or series markers. Named markers give you big flags on the terrain, series markers draw a line.
In the xml blueprint you can name either one and attach the correct style of csv. If you name the csv in both places, it fails and shows nothing.

So options are:
Fill in "Named GPS Markers File, CSV file" with your csv filename and attach a csv with lines formatted: -1.000000,51.000000,"This is my marker"
OR
Fill in "Series markers file, CSV file" with your csv filename and attach a csv with lines formatted: -1.000000,51.000000
You can also select a colour in this one that will colour the path on the terrain (I use red for rail and blue for roads) :)

So Richardo, just clear the line in "Series markers file, CSV file" (as your csv is formatted with lat, long, name) and you're good to go. Worked fine here :)

You can have as many marker files as you need (I have about 3-4 at a time, lay down the rails/roads/buildings/bridges etc) and then remove them from the Assets/<myname>/<myroute> folder to avoid the clutter. Just make a new xml/csv for each path or flag set.

Ok, so you got the fixed xml file I mailed back to you?
And you placed it and your csv in the folder C:\program files\rail simualtor\source\richard\lancs\RouteMarkers?
You then opened the Asset Editor, navigated to the blackpool file (the word blackpool next to an icon shaped like a blue L with an orange O in it) and double clicked it?
You've then clicked Export (top middle) and received no error warnings in the box at the bottom?
You've then gone to C:\program files\rail simualtor\Assets\richard\lancs\RouteMarkers and in there you now see the following files:
blackpool.bin
blackpool.bin.tgt
blackpool.dcsv
blackpool.dcsv.tgt
blackpool.xml
blackpool.xml.tgt?
You start RS, go to edit mode for whatever route, and select the filter button in the middle box on the left. In the box on the right you find Richard in the drop down, and tick the box that appears?
You then go the circle button in the left bottom panel that says "Route Markers" and clicked that so it is filled?
Now when you navigate in the lat/long box to where a marker is, eg -3.049135,53.822010 and back up a little there is still no flag showing?

If you've done all the above to the absolute letter then I think you might need to try a reinstall of RS, as the above worked fine on my system once I'd fixed your xml file mate :-?
