coardenates !

Post by whittaker »

Thanks for the info on the previous post ,it worked a treat :D

but

can someone else just check the coardenates for say the castle keep in the sim to the ones in Google earth because
they just dont seem to match.
if this is right ,it makes for a lot of gues work to extend it around to Heaton ,

the idea was to add the north tyne loop E.T.C

What are you using in Google earth, aerial imagery or maps? If you get the overlay you will see that sometimes the error can be 10's of meters and even then what is to say the maps are positioned right.

Have you got Google Earth set up to use the same co-ordinate format as Rail Sim?

Has instructions on setting up Google Earth for the purpose if you haven't!

instead of adding to the original Newcastle york route ive decided to start from scratch and start building from the Blyth end
of the route and work back up to percy main.

it seems to be a lot simpler to start from scratch as i had problems placing markers on the original route and managed first time with the new one

also the RS Tools Tmb is a god send
great instructions in there.

thanks
